Shirley Halperin over at EW.com recently spoke with Linkin Park’s Chester Bennington about the band’s future, the VMA’s and Chester solo album. Chester blasted MTV for being too young and pop-oriented
- “Where were Foo Fighters and Nickelback?”
- “Or even a band like Three Days Grace, who had a pretty big year? There was no Vampire Weekend or Daughtry. It was very one-sided.”
- “I think the VMAs have completely lost touch with a broad scope of music. It was very bubble gum and Disney, which is why bands like Foo Fighters, and everybody else in my group weren’t there. Honestly I didn’t think we were going to win, because we literally felt like we were too old.”
This is nothing new to the rest of the world. There was no post from us about the VMAs because frankly, we were watching paint dry (far more satisfying than the VMAs) until Entourage came on. This might be the year the VMAs officially died. Britney Spears is back and no one cares. There was no interest from the rock community. I’d say go watch Fuse but even they show a lot of crap and old movies that have nothing to do with music. If you wanna watch music videos, you go to youtube. If you wanna listen to music, you download it or listen to internet radio like 1.FM or XRM or one of them music choice channels (unless you pay for satellite radio, hehe.. suckas).
