Thanks to BoingBoingTV, we have an interview for you with the co-manager of Guns N Roses, Andy Gould. Andy co-managers GNR with Irving Azoff. In the interview, Andy talks about the good ole days of Rock N Roll, Primus, piracy, and stealing from McDonalds. Way to go Andy! Watch the clip below

As part of our continuing tribute to TRL, here’s part 2 with the top 5 videos of 1999. 1999 was a special year for all of us. Some people were born, some died. Some really important things happened and life was never the same for everyone as we know it. With that, here are the top 5 videos of 1999:

Blink 182 – What’s My Age Again

Foo Fighters – Learn To Fly

Incubus – Pardon Me

Korn – Freak on a Leash

Lit – My Own Worst Enemy

Let’s all call up Dr. Pepper because we want our free cans! Billboard is reporting that Guns N Roses “Chinese Democracy” will be released exclusively through BestBuy by the end of the year.

November 25th is being reported as the release date on Music Radar where it mentions that Andy Gould (GNR co-manager with Irving Azoff) played three tracks of the record for Best Buy. Also, the track “In the World” is supposed to be played in a new Leo DiCaprio movie.

Now we have confirmation. The Audio Perv also just won a bet. Well, we’ll wait until we have the CD in our hands to collect.

Thanks to the Thomas Crown Chronicles, we’re able to bring you a new hidden track from Chris Cornell’s new album called “Two Drink Minimum”. The Perv has been listening to some of the new tracks off the record (at the request of readers) and my reaction is the same as of Johnny Firecloud from CraveOnline:

“They’re unfathomably bad – a pathetically distant echo of his Soundgarden/Audioslave roots. The songs are a true testament to Cornell’s desperation for a mid-forties revival. To hell with legitimacy, we’re talking about a midlife crisis here. Some middle-aged guys will buy a red sports car or start banging their 20 year old secretary. Others break up both their wildly popular bands to make really terrible solo albums that are widely perceived as artistic death.”

You can listen to the hidden track here (listen to Watch Out and let it keep going, it starts at the 5:04 part):

So earlier in the week, we reported how Metallica’s new album Death Magnetic might sound better in the video game Guitar Hero than on the actual CD. Well last week, Wired wrote about how mastering engineer Ian Shepherd analyzed the music and determined that fans claims were correct. It turns out that the album has been so overcompressed that the dynamic range that allows you to hear individual instruments has been shrunk so low that it just sounds like a big mash. This was done so they could make the album as loud as possible. So what we have here is a loud album that suffers in quality. Cliff Burnstein, the band’s co-manager, says that over 98% of fans reactions to the album have been positive. In the same WSJ article, however, Ted Jensen (mastering engineer on Death Magnetic) admits that the record’s loud and that he’s not proud to be associated with the record. What does this all mean? If you’re going to listen to the new Metallica album, buy Guitar Hero. And download the album via P2P or torrent. Then send a letter to Cliff Burnstein with a Napster logo on it.

Ra Ra Riot is a cool indie rock band out of Syracuse, NY who just put out their first full length album. They’re actually friends of friends of The Perv and pretty cool peeps to chill with too. You can check out their tunes at their myspace. They’re on a pretty long nationwide tour and here’s a review of their show at the Hi-Dive in Denver. Yes, the pic is also from that show (Thanks to Doug Beam.) Oh hey now, here’s also a tour update from MTV Canada. That should be enough for you to get to know them. Oh yeah, here are the videos from the Echo:

At The Audio Perv, we’re all about wasting time and there are few ways better to waste time than to watch videos on Youtube. The boys in Rise Against decided to celebrate Ride to Work Day by.. riding their bikes to work and recording it with Queen’s “Bicycle Race” playing in the background. Mucho fun.
