The Audio Perv

Friday night I went to go see Scott Weiland perform at Irving Plaza in NYC (screw “Fillmore NY”, you’ll always be Irving to me!). Man.. the show SUCKED. I expected Scott to go on late. He was scheduled for 11pm. I got there at 11:30. Scott came on at 11:45 after fans were booing and starting annoying JETS chants. Scott was messed up as usual but I think more high than drunk.The band didn’t sound together at all. I wasn’t impressed with Doug Green’s guitar playing and Scott was just flat for most of the night. Songs from Scott’s first solo album sounded much better live than the second one. If these solo shows prove one thing more than anything, it’s that Scott sounds his best when only singing Stone Temple Pilots songs. At least he made time for a crack on Axl Rose.
