Ryan Star is one of the newest hot artists on Atlantic Records. Ryan first caught my attention on the reality television show “Rock Star: Supernova” on CBS a few summers ago where he was competing to become the lead singer of a “supergroup” consisting of Tommy Lee (Motley Crue), Jason Newsted (ex Metallica) and Gilby Clarke (ex Guns N Roses). Ryan Star was the main reason to watch Rock Star: Supernova. His amazing weekly performances showed that he had the talent and look to lead a rock band. (I like him even more because his voice reminds me of Gavin Rossdale and the 90s grungy sound.) Luckily, he didn’t win and get stuck in a contract with that group and gained attention from a bunch of A&R reps who would work their asses off to make sure that Ryan Star became more famous than Marty Casey (Rock Star INXS finalist).
Ryan Star signed with Atlantic and he’s just finished his debut album “11:59″, produced by Matt Serletic (Rob Thomas/matchbox twenty/Collective Soul). He has a video out for the song, “Right Now”. Check out the music video and some of Ryan’s performances from Rock Star: Supernova below. For more on Ryan Star, check out the following links: Ryan’s Myspace, Website, and Youtube.

[...] Ryan Star has a new video out for his song “Right Now” off of his upcoming album, “11:59″. The basic premise of the video is that a bunch of cheerleaders are acting like Ryan’s street team and get his music out into the streets of New York, literally. How fitting considering that Ryan’s been involved with the NY scene for several years playing shows in Manhattan since he was 14. Check out the music video and the special “Making Of” below.
