Nine Inch Nails have been confirmed to play at this year’s Sasquatch Festival May 24th in George, WA as well as June 13th at the Bonnaroo Festival in Manchester, TN. There hasn’t been any confirmation yet if Jane’s Addiction will also be playing these dates as they will be touring this summer with Trent Reznor and his band.

Music blog darlings Animal Collective stopped the Music Box at Henry Fonda Theater in Los Angeles for the first of two area shows (They played The Troubadour the next night) on Thursday night. They played a bunch of songs off “Merriweather Post Pavilion” as well as some older stuff. Check out The LA Times review and this cool interview the band did with Variety.

Anyone who’s been to a Muse concert knows how amazing they are live. They were finally recognized for it on Wednesday night when they won the “Best Live Act” Award at the NME Awards. This is the third time that the band’s won the award and when lead singer Matt Bellamy was asked how the band could improve their live show, Matt responded: “Horses! We should start arriving on stage on horseback. I’m feeling like being noble and valiant is the way forward, and how better to do that than on a horse?”

Morrissey was all set to launch his tour in Florida in support of his new album “Years of Refusal” tonight but he’s too sick to perform. Though his illness hasn’t been disclosed, it’s bad enough to keep him out for the first four dates of his tour including Boca Raton (2/28), Orlando (3/1), Jacksonville (3/3), St. Petersburg (3/4). Wow, he must be really sick if he’s going to miss almost a week of shows. Either that or he hates Florida. Either way, you can get a refund from the point of purchase. No information is available if the shows will be rescheduled. Get well soon, Morrissey!

Bono was on BBC Radio 1 where he spoke about U2′s upcoming plans for a world tour. Because of the current state of the economy in the recession, Bono says that ticket prices will be lower for this tour. “We’re trying to work on some cheaper ticket prices because this is the recession. We’re also going to have some very expensive ticket prices, because rich people have feelings too.” Oh Bono, you’re soo funny. In regards to the set up of the tour, U2′s tour might not include as many indoor arenas. Bono said “We’ve got something very special planned…something we’ve been working on for many years, a whole way of trying to do shows outdoors and make them very intimate.”

Bono was also asked about the prospects of U2 playing this year’s Glastonbury Festival:
“I know lots of people who love music want us to play that. It’s something we’re working up our whole life to do. I think that we can commit [to the idea] that we really, really want to do this.”

If U2 somehow ended up playing this year’s Glastonbury Festival, it might be the biggest ever. Maybe not the best, but the biggest.

At the NME Awards last night, Bassist Mark Stoermer of The Killers confirmed that the band would be a headliner for the V Festival. “We are indeed headlining the V Festival and we’re lucky to be doing it on our third album – things keep getting better for us. We will have the biggest lighting show we’ve ever had – it costs twice as much as our last tour.”

“When you’re playing big places you’ve got to give something to everyone, including the fans at the back.”

“We’ve become more refined as a live act.”

“The audience here is more receptive. Rock music is more exciting in the UK – there are more bands making good music and people are more into going to gigs.

“Maybe it’s a cultural thing. Music with guitars isn’t that popular in the US, although we still do sell-out shows. Sometimes it feels like going against the grain.”

In what will be one of the biggest nostalgic concert tours of the summer, Def Leppard will tour with Poison and Cheap Trick. Tickets go onsale Friday March 6th (http://www.livenation.com) unless you’re a Citi card member (you can buy tickets on March 4th then). There are several reasons to go to these shows. You can catch three cool classic bands at a decent price. Bret Michaels might make you his “Rock of Love” or you can go and catch more cougars than a zoo inspector!

“I’m very pleased that we are coming back to North America,” said Def Leppard front man Joe Elliott. “We’re gonna be touring with some new friends and some old friends and can guarantee it will be the Rock Tour of the summer.”

“There is nothing better than an epic summer concert and this tour is a dream come true for rock ‘n’ roll fans. It will be a night of a thousand hits with three hard-charging rock bands on the road together,” said Poison front man and star of VH1′s top-rated “Rock of Love Bus” reality show Bret Michaels.

You can also buy some VIP tickets to the tour through I Love All Access at www.iloveallaccess.com.
