Because all of you people love Kings of Leon so much, we’re giving you a megapost of news. First off, the band plans to have a new album out next year. Kings of Leon told BBC 6 music that they’ll release the follow-up to “Only By The Night” sometime in the fall of 2010. They’d have it out earlier but they’re touring until the end of the year. Guitarist Matthew Followill says that the new album will be “a little grungier” than their earlier work.
Bassist Jared Followill says “The next album that we make, that we’re already working on, I can assure you, is one that I’m the most excited about” (Thanks to NME for the article).
The Sun also have an article/interview with the band where they talk about some backlash against the band for not being country despite being from Nashville:
Bass player Jared Followill said: “Everyone recognises us, but they just hate us. The local papers always put a question mark after Nashville when they’re writing about us. Like we’re not really from there.”
“But now we’re so unpopular at home, it is becoming cool to like us. It’s gone full circle.”
Drummer Nathan Followill added: “When we say something in the UK, the Nashville press repeat it and take all the jokes and sarcasm out.”
On being stalked:
Lead singer Caleb says: “It’s getting crazy going home to Nashville now.
“I’m having to sell my house because they’ve put it on some celebrity homes’ map. There are kids from the UK who go to Nashville and leave me presents. My cousin, who looks after the house, hides them from me — he said I’d be scared.
“The other day I was there and left the house for a second, and when I got back there were four playing cards, four kings, with all of our names on them in the door.
“There is an apartment complex across the street and there are people renting the place out and watching.â€

Im from Nashville and i think kol are awesome. keep making music because whatever you guys come out with will probably be the shit. screw country singers and fans. all the country singers sing about and all fans like to hear about is fucking gay guys and being a perve and riding on your tractor like the dirty rednecks they are. if i was kol i would tell the haters to fuck themselves.
fuck “only by the night” that album sucked it was a crowd pleaser, commercial, their other albums are way better i hope this new one is grungier like it said in the interview
i totally agree with the last comment. I don’t like OBTN and i think their previous albuns are way better… FINGERS CROSSED FOR A NOSTALGIC 5TH ALBUM. but if it’s only differente from the last one, that’s already something.
and hey! i’d be glad to get presents from the fans. specially if the creepy ones are hidden from me =P
A new album like the BOTT from ’07 would be awesome. Going to their ’10 concert in September so maybe they will have realeased their new album by then and perfom somw new stuff :) thay would be awesome. And somwthing else about Nashville, you guys shouldn’t give a shit! Not evryone from ur city has to sing country! Ur just jealous that they’re popular and you don’t get any credit. They might as well be from UK, where they’re loved but fucking evrybody!!! And OBTN did not suck, although BOTT was way better :)
