Papa Roach is current touring in support of Buckcherry and Avenged Sevenfold before going on tour with Nickelback this summer. Afterwards, the band plans on a full headlining tour to promote their new album “Metamorphosis” (out March 24). This is what lead singer Jacoby Shaddix (you’ll always be Coby Dick to the true fans!) had to say about the band’s touring plans:
“(Nickelback) is the last tour we’re going to go out and support. That’s just another part of the puzzle to get us to the headlining slot in the fall.”
re: Nickelback tour
“That’s gonna be a great tour for us. It’s a great opportunity to go rock a whole new audience. That band’s got mega-hits and a shitpile of fans, and I’ve got to rock those fans. I know we’re going to leave an impression on them.”
re: the setup behind each show
“We want to have a production,” he says. “We’ve never had that before. We have the kind of live show that doesn’t need fire and explosions — but if we add that to the show, it’s gonna be f’ing mayhem. I can’t wait.”
re: the state of the band
“This is a decade in the big biz for us; we got signed in ’99 and set the sights high,” Shaddix explains. “Ultimately the fans will be the judge, but I also have a vote in the process ’cause I’m a fan of P-Roach. I’m in the band, but I love it, and I feel like we must made a solid, really diverse yet cohesive rock record.”
