If you haven’t heard of Alberta Cross, you most definitely will soon. Though they currently hail from Brooklyn, NY, Alberta Cross are already huge in the UK (their original home), having toured with Oasis, The Shins and Bat For Lashes. They’re an indie rock band that doesn’t piss me off like some of that hipster crap. Their EP “The Theif & The Heartbreaker” has been hailed by PopMatters as “one of the best you’ll be lucky enough to pick up, resembling a full album’s quality but leaving one wanting a lot more.” The band has already played Bonnaroo, Coachella, SXSW and they’re set to play at Glastonbury (with NEIL YOUNG), Lollapalooza, and Austin City Limits.

Alberta Cross’s new album Broken Side of Time was produced by Mike McCarthy (Spoon, Dead Confederate, Heartless Bastards) and mixed by John O’Mahony (Depeche Mode, Coldplay, Kasabian). It’s out on August 22nd. We’ll try to have some songs from it for you soon. For more on Alberta Cross, go to www.myspace.com/albertacross and albertacross.net.

Here’s what others have said about the band:

“Each tune comes on like a fragile gesture—rich with euphoric choruses,
layered guitars and raw harmonies.”—NME

“Channeling Neil Young and My Morning Jacket, the sound of deliverance.”—Esquire

June 28 Glastonbury Glastonbury
July 13 Higher Ground Burlington, VT
July 17 The Stone Pony Asbury Park, NJ (w/The Parlor Mob)
August 9 Lollapalooza Chicago, IL
October 3 Austin City Limits Austin, TX
