Saint Motel Announce Tour, Opening For Band Of Skulls

Pack your bags because Saint Motel is going on tour. The LA-based indie-pop band will be opening for the British trio Band of Skulls. Things kick off the day after Coachella and the tour jaunts through the Pacific Northwest and Canada.

Saint Motel is known for their over-the-top performances and an explosive, cinematic, indie-pop sound. The band’s live shows are marked by effusive energy and exciting visuals that offer up a unique blend of music and art. Currently, the band has a rabid fanbase in their hometown of Los Angeles, in fact their latest headline show this weekend at The Ecoplex – which was presented by KROQ and FILTER, sold out in advance with hundreds of costumed fans (shows have to have themes right?) showing up for the unique experience that only a Saint Motel show brings.

Frontman A/J Jackson explains, “People want to be entertained when they go out to see a show so we try to offer not only an energetic performance but also a memorable experience.” And the press has begun to catch onto this fact, Metromix declared “Saint Motel never fail to put on a show that’s a treat for the senses” and The Onion claims “Saint Motel has a…particular blend of wholesome indie rock brimming with raucous sexual energy,” while the Los Angeles Times has crowned the band “Los Angeles’ own pop-rock phenom.”

The band’s keen visual sensibility has yielded an array of stunningly original videos that accompany songs from their debut EP ForPlay, released via the band’s record label On The Records and the physical or digital version of ForPlay includes the free added bonus of ultra-conceptualized videos for each song.

Saint Motel’s music has been featured on featured on the popular THQ video game Saints Row 3, influential radio stations like KCRW and KROQ in addition to spots on television like 90210, VH1, and E! News.

“Saint Motel has been generating a substantial amount of buzz throughout the music scene ever since the band released their debut album, ForPlay…” – FILTER

“They’re my favorite band of 2010. Besides having amazing songs, they add an artistic value to their shows that I haven’t seen in a long time.” – Nic Adler (Owner, Roxy Theatre),

“We watched and danced in flocks, we sweated, we opened up our wounds to Saint Motel’s killer beats” – Beth McNamara, LA Record

“Among the real stand outs this year is Saint Motel. I’ve got a feeling that the buzz on these guys in the coming months will parallel the insane media attention that The Strokes received in 2001/2002.” – Marie Claire
“…this is great hooky indie pop!” – Nic Harcourt, Los Angeles Times Magazine and KCRW DJ

“Four cinephiles met in film school three years ago and formed Saint, an unsigned indie-pop act that has gained legions of fans with just one EP and several energetic videos. It might be because their shows are such spectacles, mixing visual effects with the classic elements of a rock ‘n roll party.” –

“Imploring, atonal, and irresistible garage glam.” – FLAVORPILL
