The Young Veins’ debut album, Take a Vacation!, is out on June 8th via One Haven Music. On release day, the band will be in Los Angeles to perform at famed independent record store, Origami Vinyl, for a special street date appearance.

The Young Veins have announced summer touring plans that will kick off with a set at Bonnaroo on June 11th. The band will then hit the road for a coast to coast tour with Rooney. Lead single “Change” can be downloaded now at the band’s website http://www.theyoungveins.com/ . The full album can be pre-ordered now here: http://www.theyoungveins.com/preorder .

Following closely in the verve of pop-tunesmiths of yesteryear, the California-based 5 piece consists of Ryan Ross on vocals and guitar (Panic! at the Disco), Jon Walker on vocals and guitar (Panic! at the Disco), Andy Soukal on bass, Nick White (Bright Eyes, Tilly and The Wall) on keyboards and Nick Murray on drums. Primarily the writing project of Ryan Ross and Jon Walker, The Young Veins was created when the two members of the wildly popular Las Vegas band Panic! at the Disco exhibited a writing progression that began to fall increasingly outside the lines of the band’s context. After their last world tour for Pretty. Odd, Ross and Walker took their new material to Castle Oak Studios and Sunset Sound in LA, teaming up with producers Alex Greenwald (Phantom Planet) and Rob Mathes (Panic!, Carly Simon, Loud Reed). The result, Take A Vacation!, features guest vocals and instrumentation by fellow Angelenos Chief , Alex Greenwald, The Like and Jason Boesel (Rilo Kiley). The LP embraces archetypal styles of the 60’s with inflected elements of surf rock, psychedelia, and brit-pop, all of which translate effortlessly into the live setting.

Praise for The Young Veins:

“The Young Veins has legs of its own to stand on. And arteries that are chock-full with the blood of past masters.” – SPIN Magazine

Brooklyn duo The Hundred in the Hands have premiered a video for new track ‘Tom Tom’ (directed by Ben Crook) today at the Fader, as well as giving away the track “Ghosts” (the first song the duo ever wrote together as The Hundred in the Hands) at their website, http://thehundredinthehands.com/.

Both tracks are taken from their EP This Desert, released last week and described as “an absolute pleasure” by Drowned in Sound and given “two thumbs up” from Time Out London. You can sample the EP here (with a little help from Fab 5 Freddy and Grandmaster Flash): http://bit.ly/9JvqJj

The band follow the EP with a slew of worldwide tour dates and festival slots, kick-starting things with a US tour in June supporting Golden Filter before moving through Europe and the UK towards the release of their debut album in the Autumn. A list of dates is below, with many more to be announced in the coming weeks.

Praise for This Desert:

“Move over, Sleigh Bells: The Hundred in the Hands are the latest Brooklyn-based buzz band with a guy-girl lineup and
tricked-out pop music at their core.”— Spinner

“The Hundred in the Hands’ music springs from that sliver of the early ‘80s in which pop was personal, arty and potentially angry.”—Time Out New York

“…a bit post-punky, a bit shoegaze-y but sounds like now. And you can dance to it”—Brooklyn Vegan

Automatic Loveletter has posted 2 new songs on their MySpace from their debut full length Truth Or Dare- due out June 22nd through Sony Independent. Listen to “Let It Ride” and “Story Of My Life” here and make sure to check out the band on Warped Tour this summer!

The band has also announced the pre-order for the album which includes a signed CD/poster package. Available now through SmartPunk, fans can pick up a copy here.

Automatic Loveletter has a long standing history in the music scene, despite the fact that they are just now releasing their debut full length. The band recorded with producer Matt Squire (Panic at the Disco, All Time Low) for their Recover EP, which was released exclusively by Hot Topic in 2008, and with Curt Schneider for their self-titled iTunes EP, which came out in early 2009.

Between writing and recording, the band toured the country sharing the stage with Secondhand Serenade, Cute Is What We Aim For, From First To Last, Say Anything, Between the Trees and Craig Owens, and played Bamboozle and Bamboozle Left in 2008. In 2008, Automatic Loveletter was asked to join the Vans Warped Tour, where they drastically increased their fanbase and honed their live performance.
Front woman Juliet Simms has appeared on several recordings in addition to her work with Automatic Loveletter. In 2007, she was flown to Maryland to sing on a track on All Time Low’s break out album So Wrong, It’s Right. She recorded a cover of Coldplay’s “Fix You” with Secondhand Serenade for their 2009 record A Twist In My Story and appeared on songs by Cartel, 3OH!3 and LoveHateHero. She even performed on Jimmy Kimmel Live! with Secondhand Serenade. Working with so many talented bands and musicians helped Simms grow as a musician herself, exposing her to new ideas and methods.

Now, with the release of Truth Or Dare, the band is heading back out on the road with this year’s Warped Tour, pounding the pavement with the likes of The All American Rejects, Mayday Parade, Motion City Soundtrack, and more from June 25th until August 15th. Dates posted below…
