Executive Music Group is proud to unveil The Dirty Heads’ official music video for their #1 breakthrough single, “Lay Me Down”! The laid back, summery music video follows two teenagers running through the streets of Mexico avoiding the cops and looking for a place to settle down. After the two find their way to a local halfway house, they have just enough time to take part in a round of drinks with The Dirty Heads.

“Lay Me Down,” the band’s first chart topper, was featured on Rolling Stone’s “Hot List,” and is one of the most added and requested songs at dozens of radio stations across the country. The Dirty Heads will continue to sell out shows across the U.S. while touring this summer in support of Sublime with Rome and Matisyahu, as well as performing their own headlining shows and festivals.

Fans can now pick up the band’s debut album, Any Port in a Storm, for only $5.00 on Amazon until the end of June!

Summer is officially here and Holy Ghost! is ready to be the soundtrack to every sun-soaked BBQ and sweaty late-night party. The duo and their live players just wrapped their first tour as a full live band, playing sold-out shows across the country with label-mates and friends LCD Soundsystem. This tour was the perfect transition from the studio to the stage, one that Nick Millhiser describes as a “three week field trip with some of my dearest friends.”

They’ll be playing a few solo and multi-bill shows here and in Europe before heading out on the road again next month with pals Chromeo, and will play a not-to-be-missed show with Hercules and Love Affair and Hot Chip at Central Park SummerStage in August.

At the shows, you’ll be able to catch tunes from Holy Ghost’s recently released debut EP Static on the Wire. These are four of the catchiest, hook-heavy, disco-infused pop songs you’ll hear all year, and are sure to keep your feet movin’ and your head boppin’ all summer long.

Adult Swim’s Singles Program have created an AWESOME new video for Holy Ghost’s remix of LCD Soundsystem’s “Drunk Girls”

Antony and the Johnsons will release their new album, “Swanlights”, on October 12th in the US via Secretly Canadian. Abrams Image will simultaneously release a special edition of “Swanlights” which will include the CD inside a 144-page hard cover book containing Antony’s paintings, collages, photography and writing. The album only version of “Swanlights” on Secretly Canadian will also include the song “Flétta”, a duet with Björk. The album and book are a continuation of Antony’s work exploring his connection to the natural world.
While I Am a Bird Now is compelling in its vulnerability, and The Crying Light is a masterpiece of austerity, Swanlights may be Antony’s most wide-rangingly emotional work to date. It is a record that is at moments heartbreakingly tender, and at other times has a joyful gleam to its teeth. Unlike previous work, which was often quite sparsely voiced, on Swanlights the vines in the garden are overgrown and the sound palette has become more exotic; strange percussive elements, John Cale-esque string drones, heavily distorted guitars and symphonic winds and strings thread the song cycle together.

“Everything is New” opens the album with a newborn piano melody that quickly gathers in momentum and excitement. Strings and bursts of percussion carry the song forward in a feral cacophony of sound. Later on the album, the title track “Swanlights” finds us navigating a primordial and hallucinatory world of hazy guitar tones. The enigmatic layered melody of “Swanlights” emerges from a glistening soundscape. A central image on the album, Antony explains what he means by the word “Swanlights”: ”It’s the reflection of light on the surface of the water at night. It’s the moment when a spirit jumps out of a body and turns into a violet ghost.” On “Thank You For Your Love”, Antony expresses a soul-infused sentiment of gratitude, but the song progresses into urgency, leaving behind the 4/4 rhythmic structure and breaking into an emotional gallop that reveals an underlying pathos.

The Swanlights book is a collection of thought-provoking paintings, drawings, collages, photography, and writings. Dreamlike and often bleakly environmental, Antony depicts a natural and spiritual world under siege. Much of the work aches with a forlorn romanticism. In some pieces, the artist draws together fragments of the past, the present and the future to create a ghostly sense of omniscience. One image features a portrait of the artist with his great grandmother’s face projected upon his own, creating a ricochet through time and genealogy. Found images of natural landscapes are stained with scrawls of ink, indicating invisible presence and movement. Some pieces are more conceptual; in “Cut Away The Bad”, the artist removes corrupted elements in an attempt to restore balance. In pieces like “I Want To Help” Antony sews a torn landscape back together with a magical intent.

Music and visual art intersect in these two presentations of Swanlights to create an arresting vision of the world through the artist’s eyes.

Swanlights is the fourth Antony and the Johnsons album and the follow up to the critically acclaimed “The Crying Light” which entered the European Chart at #1 was included in year-end best of lists across the globe in 2009. Antony burst into the international spotlight with his second album, “I am a Bird Now”, which won the UK’s prestigious Mercury Music Prize.

Sophomore releases. They used to be a daunting obstacle for a band to overcome. Living up to the first impressions you left on your listeners ears and catching up with all the music that came out during the time that you “took off.” That is unless you are Philadelphia’s Jukebox the Ghost.

Armed with their new record Everything Under the Sun produced by Peter Katis (Interpol, The National, Fanfarlo) and set for release on September 7th via Yep Roc the band combines their adept skills as individual musicians, tirelessly energetic live sets and pulsating catchy lyrics. The record’s debut track, “Empire” is best described by vocalist/keyboardist Ben Thornwell as: ” …an extended metaphor of the heart as a castle, A keep is defined as ‘The Stronghold of a Castle’ thus, ‘My heart, is my keep and you are threatening me.’ And the truth is that an empire, as is love, is hard to keep peaceful.

Since their 2008 debut, Let Live and Let Ghosts, which SPIN called, “a refreshing reminder that the lighthearted electricity of a fantastic pop song is still filled with live wires,” the band has kept themselves busy. After playing over 300 shows with the likes of Ben Folds, Adam Green and Ra Ra Riot the band, which is made up of vocalist/pianist Ben Thornewill, vocalist/guitarist Tommy Siegel and drummer Jesse Kristin spent countless hours constructing and arranging songs until they reached their full potential.

Whether they were touring, rehearsing in basements, houses, hotel rooms or hanging out in the studio the creative process never stopped, making Everything Under the Sun a record that not only showcases this band’s songwriting prowess but also their infectious energy.
