Pretty often at the Studio At Webster Hall, there’s a really cool free showcase. Tonight is another such occasion as Future Sounds Presents: The Rumble New York featuring Borrowed Eyes, Dead Sparrows and The Dirty Glamour. Borrowed Eyes and the Blood Red Road are a band that truly must be seen live to fully grasp the depths of their sound. Their soulful outlaw folk-fused bluesy southern rock amalgamation is easier heard than described, and the band puts on a hell of a show to say the least. Led by the charismatic frontman Danny Wood (formerly of …And You Will Know us by the Trail of Dead), Borrowed Eyes plays a blend of Americana, folk, and roots music with the intensity of a punk or metal band, and their passion for their style is apparent during the energetic jamming sections. Their sound is highly conceptual with a distinct vibe and theme, but stylistically never overthrows their music and its all around fun, soulful, and powerful breed of pure rock and roll. Look out for their new album later this year.

The Dead Sparrows are a New York City rock and roll band predominately based out of the Lower East Side. “Into the Nettles” is the latest release from the group and it slays. Recorded in a Bushwick, BK warehouse and mixed in the basement of an abandoned bar on in the LES, the album is 11 tracks of guts, guitars and vocals that make the girls toes curl.

The Dirty Glamour: The finest Lower East Side gutter rock, bred on the pure waters of the Gowanus Canal. Where the swamp meets the desert, where the slide meets the tambourine, where the electricity feeds the harmony. See them now, feel them later, ladies and gentlemen, the time has come.
