APRIL SMITH AND THE GREAT PICTURE SHOW ANNOUNCE TOUR DATES, PREMIERE NEW VIDEO FOR “TERRIBLE THINGS”
Brooklyn-based quintet April Smith and the Great Picture Show will close out 2010 bringing their swinging, juke joint swagger to a venue near you in support of their LP, Songs For A Sinking Ship. Kicking off November 4th in Cambridge, MA and culminating November 30th in Chicago, IL with stops along the way in in New York, Philadelphia, Chicago, Spokane, San Francisco, Seattle and Los Angeles to name a few (complete list of tour dates below).
“Terrible Things” is the lead single from Songs for a Sinking Ship, and is already impacting at AAA radio, where it’s gained early support from stations including KEZE (Spokane, WA), KPND (Sandpoint, ID), KCLC (St. Louis, MO), KPIG (Monterey, CA) and WCBE (Columbus, OH). Audiences nationwide are quickly becoming fans of April Smith and The Great Picture Show. “Terrible Things,” is prominently featured in promos for this seasons Showtime television series “Weeds”. Additionally, the National Football League is using her cover of Lesley Gore’s “You Don’t Own Me,” in a television campaign currently running promoting a new line of fashionable NFL clothing for women. Smith’s song “Wow and Flutter” can also be heard in a Colgate Wisps commercial.
