MNDR Announces December Dates & Winter 2011 Tour with Chromeo, Free “Caligula” Download

Before everyone disperses for the holiday season, MNDR will be playing four select shows on the east and west coast, beginning on December 9, bringing some much needed noise to your lonely wintery nights. Right now, they are offering fans a free download of their own Cold mix of electro-pop gem “Caligula” via www.mndrmndr.com.

Since we announced the arrival of MNDR’s debut EP in the Spring, entitled E.P.E, both sides of the Atlantic have been ablaze with the beats, the moves, and the music of the New York two-piece. In addition to their music infiltrating the Web over 2010, they received instant praise from both the music community and beyond, from culture and tastemaker outlets such as The Fader, The New York Times, Pitchfork, Paper and Interview. MNDR has headlined shows in the US and the UK, opened for Miike Snow and Massive Attack in the US, and performed around the globe with Mark Ronson and The Business INTL whom MNDR collaborated with on ice cool summer hit “Bang Bang Bang.”

Along with touring, MNDR, a.k.a Amanda Warner, has been nearing the completion of the first full length album in NYC with producer and co-writer Peter Wade, to be readied for release in Spring/Summer 2011. To pass the time, MNDR will be releasing digital singles, 7 inches, and music videos along the way and will also be embarking on a month long jaunt across the US with Montreal’s Chromeo on January 19th, 2011.

Amanda Warner’s incredible melodic sense and underground noise and art influences coupled with Peter Wade’s interest in combining non-traditional sounds with polished songcraft prove to be a perfect marriage of minds. Live, Amanda commands the stage, bending back and forth between her keyboard rig and microphone as she belts out their deceptively simple and undeniably addictive hits. Her fearless individuality and larger than life personality puts the live show is in a class all its own. Add their original audio reactive visuals into the mix (commissioned by MNDR from visual artist Jamie Carreiro), and you’ve got one electrifying show.

Recent media praise for MNDR:

“Right now MNDR is our favorite electronic pop singer/producer and gear head who crafts effervescent jams we simply cannot shake from our brains…” – FADER

“The one-person dance machine Amanda Warner, who unlike the other acts on the bill, had no interest in obscuring anything. Her music was blunt and ecstatic, an antidote to boys in hiding.” New York Times
“…dynamic electro-pop…” – Pitchfork

“…she can build you an amp out of spare parts and then blast all manner of engrossing egghead dance-floor ephemera through it. Here’s your Lady Gaga in training, if she doesn’t morph into something weirder, flashier, better.” – Village Voice

“MNDR has given electro the kiss of life.”- NME
