MTV has announced dates for the biggest nights in music, movies and pop culture. Packed with unpredictable moments, unprecedented performances and appearances, the dates for the 2011 the â€œmtvU Woodie Awards,â€ â€œMTV Movie Awards,â€ and â€œMTV Video Music Awardsâ€ are as follows:
mtvU Woodie Awards: In its first move outside of New York City, the 6th annual â€œmtvU Woodie Awardsâ€ will air LIVE for the first time ever on Wednesday, March 16 at 12AM (ET/PT) on MTV, MTV2 and mtvU from the Austin Music Hall in Austin, Texas during the South By Southwest Music Festival.
MTV Movie Awards: The 20th annual â€œMTV Movie Awardsâ€ will air LIVE on Sunday, June 5 at 9PM (ET/PT) from Los Angeles, CA.
MTV Video Music Awards: The 28th annual â€œMTV Video Music Awardsâ€ will air LIVE Sunday, August 28 at 9PM (ET/PT)

For the first time ever, the 2011 â€œmtvU Woodie Awardsâ€ is heading out of New York City to Austin, Texas during the 25th Anniversary of South by Southwest and will be broadcast LIVE on MTV, MTV2 and mtvU. As the only award show to honor and highlight the music and artists voted â€˜bestâ€™ by the US college audience, the 6th annual show will be executive produced by longtime MTV VMAs executive producer, Jesse Ignjatovic, promising an unforgettable night of music and performances.
With over 3.1 million votes, the â€œ2009 mtvU Woodie Awardsâ€ delivered the highest number of votes in Woodies history. College students established the â€œmtvU Woodie Awardsâ€ in 2004 and has since propelled numerous recognized acts to the next level of their careers â€“ including surging record sales, headlining tours and mainstream notoriety.
