London’s White Lies made a major splash with their dark and enigmatic 2009 debut, To Lose My Life, and are ready to up the excitement factor once again with the announcement of their highly anticipated sophomore record Ritual set to hit on January 18, 2011 via Geffen/Fiction. Produced by Alan Moulder, Ritual is the perfect epic and roaring follow up taking us on a sonic journey through dancefloor beats meets raging guitars and everything in between, fused together perfectly, and all at an incredibly melodic breakneck speed. Ritual teems with dark distorted anthems for the modern age. British critics have given White Lies accolades as successors to the likes of Echo & The Bunnymen, The Teardrop Explodes, Depeche Mode, The Psychedelic Furs and Magazine and have called lyricist Charles Cave a “ classic doom-rock dreamweaver; Nick Cave meeting Edgar Allen Poe.” First single “Bigger Than Us” will be available digitally on November 22.

White Lies’ debut To Lose My Life launched these childhood friends (Harry McVeigh, Jack Brown, Charles Cave) from West London straight into the spotlight both on our shores as well as overseas and landed them a # 1 record in the UK as well as the honorable distinction of being MOJO’s Breakthrough Artist of 2009 and Q’s Breakthrough Artist of the Year (2009). Stateside they played to massive crowds at Coachella and Lollapalooza and found themselves performing on the Late Show with Letterman and Jimmy Kimmel Live. A heavy touring band, White Lies have spent the past two years on the road playing both headlining sets as well as supporting slots with artists like Coldplay and Kings of Leon. After a recent gig opening for Muse this past September at Wembley Stadium where the band launched through an incendiary set of both new and old tunes to an audience of 100,000, White Lies returned to US shores for the first time in a year with a headlining set at Filter’s Culture Collide Festival in Los Angeles.

Now the Australian-residing producers Chris Stracey and Jack Glass are finally ready to deliver their long overdue and lovingly anticipated debut self-titled album in January next year.

After dropping singles on Bang Gang 12″s (‘Fun Punch’, ‘Turbo Love’) and remixing the likes of Cut Copy, Midnight Juggernauts and Kid Sister, the twos reputation grew internationally, and when they released a track titled ‘Shooting Stars’ they reached every corner of the world, making them a name amongst in-the-know kids, the sweaty dance faithful, and DJs across the globe. The video for ‘Shooting Stars’ has been viewed over 1 million times on YouTube and the track is now available as a free MP3 download for you right here.

Multi-platinum band No Doubt will release No Doubt ICON, a new collection available on November 2, 2010. The No Doubt ICON release features the same track listing as their Singles Collection, including “It’s My Life,” “Just A Girl,” and “Hey Baby,” with new artwork and at a lower price. The fifteen-track release will offer fans a more affordable version of the band’s greatest hits collection.

“With the band recording a new record for next year we felt it was a good idea to remind everyone of the great music No Doubt has made over the years. We feel the ICON release of No Doubt’s greatest hits is an extremely low-cost way to turn a lot of new people on to the band’s great music,” said the group’s manager, Jim Guerinot.

Formed in Anaheim, CA, No Doubt reached international success with their 1995 release Tragic Kingdom. That album, including the megahit “Don’t Speak” among many others, has sold over 15 million copies worldwide. Their follow-up, Return of Saturn, was nominated for Best Rock Album at the 2001 Grammy® Awards. The following year, No Doubt won two Grammy® Awards for the multi-platinum Rock Steady and performed at the Superbowl XXXVII Halftime Show in 2003 alongside Sting.

After the double-platinum success of No Doubt’s Singles Collection, featuring the hit “It’s My Life,” lead singer Gwen Stefani released two successful solo albums in 2004 and 2006, respectively. In 2009, after a nearly five-year hiatus, No Doubt completed a 50-plus city North American tour performing for more than 750,000 fans that summer.

MPL and the Concord Music Group are pleased to announce the re-release of Paul McCartney & Wings’ iconic Band on the Run on November 2nd, 2010. Heralded as one of the greatest albums of all time, the GRAMMY winning, smash # 1 album – originally released December of 1973 – yielded the immortal title track and world-wide hit “Jet” becoming Wings’ most successful and celebrated album ever.

Paul McCartney personally supervised all aspects of the Band on the Run reissue. The remastering work was done at Abbey Road using the same team who recently remastered the complete Beatles’ catalog.

Band on the Run will be available in a variety of formats originating with the single disc digitally remastered, essential 9-track standard edition. The 3 disc (2CD, 1 DVD) special edition features nine bonus audio tracks (including the top 10 smash “Helen Wheels”), rare footage of the McCartneys in Lagos and behind-the-scenes at the famous album cover shoot, original Band on the Run promotional video clips, the One Hand Clapping television special (highlighted by studio performances filmed at Abbey Road in 1974) all with beautifully enhanced packaging. Collectors will be especially thrilled by the 4 disc (3CD, 1 DVD) deluxe edition which adds an extraordinary 120-page hard bound book containing many unseen and unpublished photos by Linda McCartney and Clive Arrowsmith, album and single artwork, downloadable hi-res audio versions of the remastered album and bonus audio tracks, a full history of the album complete with a new interview with Paul and expanded track by track information for all four discs. The deluxe edition also includes a special Band on the Run audio documentary (originally produced for the 25th Anniversary edition.) The original remastered album and bonus audio content will also be issued in a 2 disc 180gm audiophile vinyl edition that comes with an MP3 download of all 18 tracks. Lastly, the standard and deluxe versions of Band on the Run will be available digitally worldwide.

The musical achievement of Band on the Run is nearly matched by the amazing story behind its creation. Intrigued with recording abroad in the summer of 1973, McCartney searched for a list of studios around the world. Spotting one in the remote location of Lagos, Nigeria, he became enthralled with the idea of recording in Africa. Days before departure, lead guitarist Henry McCullough and drummer Denny Seiwell quit the band leaving the entire project to the three core members, Paul, his wife Linda McCartney and band-member Denny Laine (along with recording engineer Geoff Emerick). Recorded in August and September of 1973 (with further work done at AIR Studios in London in October 1973), they persevered through a tumultuous, yet creatively invigorating 2 month recording process battling difficult studio conditions, oppressive heat and a dangerous mugging at knife point. The thieves made off with the demo tapes (among other valuables), forcing the band to record the entire album from memory.

Band on the Run triumphed both critically and commercially. The album topped the US album chart 3 separate times, won a Grammy and went on to sell more than 7 million copies. Upon the release of Band on the Run, then Rolling Stone reviewer Jon Landau famously gushed, “The finest record yet released by any of the four musicians who were once called The Beatles.”

Paul is currently playing five songs from the album on his ‘Up and Coming Tour’. Live favorites over the last 8 years of touring have included “Jet”, “Band on the Run” and “Let Me Roll It”. In 2008 when Paul played a free outdoor show to over 500,000 people in Kiev, a Ukrainian poll listed “Mrs Vandebilt” as their all time favorite Paul McCartney song. It’s been included in the set ever since. At the start of this tour Paul added “Nineteen Hundred and Eighty Five” to the set.

Band on the Run marks the first release from the Paul McCartney Archive Collection, an ambitious reissue program that encompasses 40 years of cherished, classic material from the most successful songwriter and recording artist in music history. It’s also the initial physical release of the recently announced agreement between McCartney’s MPL and Concord Music Group to globally market and distribute McCartney’s venerated solo and Wings catalog.

Diddy – Dirty Money have premiered their latest music video featuring Young Money rapper, Drake. Diddy gets his heart broken in the Gil Green (Akon, Flo Rida, Jay Sean) directed clip which helps tell the story behind “Loving You No More.” The track will appear on Diddy – Dirty Money’s debut offering, Last Train To Paris, available everywhere December 14th. Fans can check out “Loving You No More” featuring Drake now on Vevo.com.

The hip-hop and R&B trio, Diddy – Dirty Money, is comprised of Sean Combs, Dawn Richard, and Kalenna Harper. Rounder Records is excited to announce that Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame legend Gregg Allman will release his first solo record in 14 years on January 18, 2011. Called Low Country Blues for the coastal Georgia region Allman calls home, the record was produced by T Bone Burnett, recorded at his Village Recorder studio in Los Angeles and features Dr. John on piano, guitarist Doyle Bramhall II, and Burnett’s brilliant go-to rhythm section: bassist Dennis Crouch and drummer Jay Bellerose. Low Country Blues is Gregg Allman at his very best — a self-assured, spirited collection that will stand as a major milestone in what is undeniably an exceptional career.

As a founding member of the Allman Brothers Band and in his own storied solo career, Allman has long been a gifted natural interpreter of the blues. His soulful and distinctive voice is one of the defining sounds in the history of American music. Low Country Blues finds him putting his own stamp on songs by some of the blues giants whose work has long informed his own, from Muddy Waters and BB King to Buddy Guy and Magic Sam.

Though constantly on the road, Allman has spent precious little time in the studio since the 2002 death of producer Tom Dowd — the man behind the glass for much of his recorded career. Sceptical at first, Allman and Burnett quickly bonded and work began in January 2010. The powerhouse band – which of course also features Gregg’s own acoustic guitar expertise and trademark Hammond B-3 organ – cooks up an earthy and atmospheric musical stew infused with gritty R&B muscle, spooky Southern psychedelia, and greasy deep soul grooves.

Like any genuine bluesman, Allman’s own life has been colored by myriad triumphs and too many tragedies. Low Country Blues was initially slated for a mid-2010 release, but that plan changed when Gregg, who had long battled chronic Hepatitis C, was notified that he was a candidate for a liver transplant. In June 2010, he entered the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida where he successfully underwent the difficult surgery. Knowing that he had only just made one of the defining albums of his recorded career proved to be the best medicine, giving Allman the inner strength he needed to fully heal.

An inveterate road warrior, Allman is understandably itching to return to the endless highway. He spent the months following the surgery hitting both the gym and the rehearsal studio, working hard to restore his vitality to its requisite level. Moreover, Allman is justifiably proud of Low Country Blues and is eager to get out there to bring these songs to his countless fans.

“When you have a new record it always feels different,” he says. “Man, you gotta get out there and move the muscles, you gotta move it and shake it.”

“It’s been too long,” he adds. “I guess I was just born with a lot of gypsy in my soul.”

The track listing for the record is:

1. Floating Bridge (Sleepy John Estes)

2. Little By Little (Junior Wells)

3. Devil Got My Woman (Skip James)

4. I Can’t Be Satisfied (Muddy Waters)

5. Blind Man (Bobby Bland)

6. Just Another Rider (Gregg Allman & Warren Haynes)

7. Please Accept My Love (BB King)

8. I Believe I’ll Go Back Home (Traditional)

9. Tears Tears Tears (Amos Milburn)

10. My Love is Your Love (Samuel Maghett)

11. Checking On My Baby (Otis Rush)

12. Rolling Stone (Traditional)

Razor & Tie is excited to announce the signing of Ocean Is Theory, the indie rock band based out of Atlanta. The band is currently recording their new album in Los Angeles with producers Stacy Jones and Bill Lefler.

Formed in 2007, Ocean Is Theory is a proven indie success story. Their self released EP Into the Mouths of Lions helped the band become a favorite amongst the local Atlanta scene and throughout the Southeast, and allowed them to gain credibility and exposure. While touring, they sold over 6,000 copies of the EP independently and soon caught the attention of retailers who brought the EP on board. At the same time, the band continued to write new material and released their second EP, In My Blood Again, in 2009. In My Blood Again was produced by Matt Malpass (Copeland, Lydia, Relient K) and mixed by producer Mike Sapone (Brand New, Taking Back Sunday).

Based out of Atlanta, Ocean Is Theory is Josh Williams (vocals/guitars), Nick Novak (guitars/vocals), Kevin Cerbone (bass/vocals) and Clay Carter (drums/vocals). Through solid touring including Absolute Punk’s “Unsigned and Underage Tour,” Ocean Is Theory has created a solid and dedicated fan base while creating interest and awareness from the industry and peers alike.

“I am so excited to be working with Ocean Is Theory,” said Beka Tischker, Vice President of A&R at Razor & Tie. “I thank Dylan Chenfeld for bringing the band to my attention and introducing me to their music. I know they are ready for big things in the future, and everyone at Razor & Tie is thrilled to be working on this project.”

After successfully making a name for themselves completely independent of any label ties, Ocean Is Theory is happy to now partner with Razor & Tie. “This feels like our first record,” said vocalist/guitarist Josh Williams. “We’ve really grown as songwriters. This is the most time we’ve spent on writing, and definitely the most care we’ve put into an album.” The untitled 2011 release will be more indie pop than anything the band has ever created before. “Good, hooky, indie rock,” Williams explained. He cites Third Eye Blind and Jimmy Eat World as a few of the band’s inspirations when writing the record. The collaborative production team of American Hi-Fi vocalist Stacy Jones (Plain White T’s, The Strays, Ingrid Michaelson) and Bill Lefler (Dashboard Confessional, Gym Class Heroes, Cary Brothers) will help fuse the mix of pop, grunge, and indie rock.

Jones and Lefler are excited about working with Ocean Is Theory on their latest album. Lefler stated, “The band has a sort of left-of-center, interesting take on pop songs. The way they play reminds me of cult classics, like The Smiths, The Cure and My Bloody Valentine.” Ocean Is Theory’s new album will be released in early 2011 via Razor & Tie.
