Introducing…Luke Rathborne (Playing The Living Room NY Tonight!)

After watching the Grammys on Sunday night, you had two thoughts. 1. “Holy shit! Arcade Fire Won Album Of The Year!” and “2. Damn, Bob Dylan, I wish I had seen you live when you were younger.” The latter thought led to us searching for the next Bob Dylan, not an exact carbon copy but a great storyteller with a unique voice. We discovered Luke Rathborne. Just listen to his song “Dog Years” (mp3)

We’ll wait for you to finish listening. You loved it, right?

“Dog Years” will be on Luke’s new album due out on March 8th (Dilettante Recordings). It’s made up of two EPs (I Can Be One / Dog Years). The material on the Dog Years EP was written when Luke was a teenager living in Maine. The I Can Be One EP was written following Luke’s move to New York with some arrangements on it provided by members of Antony and the Johnsons. Devendra Banhart loved the song “I Can Be One” (mp3) so much that he invited Luke on tour.

We know that you’re eager to see Luke Rathborne in concert. Good news, tonight he plays the Living Room (7PM SHARP!) in New York City. You should see him now and at SXSW. If you’re not in town, check out the tour dates below as well as the entire Dog Years EP below:
