My Cousin, The Emperor have returned to NYC after a tour down to SXSW and back with Caitlin Cary’s (Whiskeytown) THE SMALL PONDS. They made plenty of fans on the road, with Knoxville’s Metro Pulse declaring, “My Cousin, The Emperor comes off like a shiny 21st-century update of The Basement Tapes.” The Dallas Observer noticed, “New York’s My Cousin, The Emperor add a bit more of an edge to this interesting bill” and Metromix confirmed, “My Cousin played with the soul of seasoned Nashville session men.”
MCTE just released the single disc, double EP The Subway EPs and will be celebrating with a CD RELEASE SHOW at Southpaw in Brooklyn on Sat, April 9th with a lineup that can’t be topped. The quartet will be bookended by The Loom and Yellowbirds and Sgt Dunbar and the Hobo Banned will open things up, so we suggest you get there early to catch all four throw down.
