About the band:

The Black and White Years
Over the last few years, The Black and White Years have worked with legends such as Jerry Harrison of Talking Heads and Steve Ferrone of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers/Duran Duran, shared the bill with DEVO, Tricky and Datarock, been featured on Kanye West’s blog, and even reached Top Ten on several radio stations throughout the country including Austin’s own 101X. Since they formed the band in 2007, they’ve played festivals such as CMJ Music Festival, Fun Fun Fun Fest, Austin City Limits Music Festival, MIDEM, Wireless Festival.

Sum 41′s newest album, Screaming Bloody Murder, has officially been released and is available in stores and on iTunes now! The album marks the fifth release for the four-piece, and their first since 2007′s Underclass Hero. The album is currently streaming in it’s entirety on the bands official website and they will be performing on Jimmy Kimmel Live on March 31st.

Playfully seductive dance-pop trio Yelle release their sophomore album Safari Disco Club today on V2/Cooperative USA/Downtown Records. The group is currently overseas opening up for Katy Perry, who hand picked the group for her UK tour. Yelle also remixed Perry’s “Hot and Cold” back in 2009, which you can check out HERE. The group’s recent international takeover also led them to take part in Twitter’s official 5th anniversary promo, alongside the likes of Snoop Dogg, Richard Branson, and Serena Williams. US fans can catch Yelle’s exuberant live show this spring.

Explosions In The Sky’s April 30 date at Los Angeles’ Hollywood Forever Cemetery, which sold out within 72 hours, will now be preceded by a very special outdoor art and listening event taking place exactly one week prior to the band’s performance at the same site:

On April 23, Hollywood Forever Cemetery will be host to Taking Care 6: Visual Interpretations, an installation set up on the cemetery grounds consisting of works by six different visual artists, each created in response to one of the six songs on Explosions In The Sky’s forthcoming Take Care, Take Care, Take Care, out April 26 on Temporary Residence Ltd.

Tickets to Taking Care 6: Visual Interpretations are free with RSVP at www.ticketweb.com/hollywoodforever while supplies last. The event is Rain or Shine. Doors open at 8 p.m. and the cemetery closes at 11 p.m.

Recorded at Sonic Ranch in El Paso TX by John Congleton and produced by the band, Take Care, Take Care, Take Care will be Explosions In The Sky’s fifth album and first since 2007′s All Of A Sudden I Miss Everyone. The record was mixed by Congleton at Austin TX’s Public Hi Fi studio and features artwork by longtime visual collaborator Esteban Rey. The rare Hollywood Forever appearance is the latest date to sell out in a tour that begins April 1 at the Lyric in Oxford MS and features Explosions In The Sky’s biggest headline engagement to date, April 6 at New York City’s famed Radio City Music Hall as well as numerous worldwide headline and festival dates, as well as a recently added pair of shows supporting Arcade Fire in Austin and Houston.

Long known for their ingenious and imaginative videos, Atlantic recording group Death Cab for Cutie are poised to make history with the companion clip for their hugely anticipated new single, “You Are A Tourist.” Directed by award-winning filmmaker Tim Nackashi (TV On The Radio, OK Go, Elvis Costello, Radiohead), and conceptualized by frequent collaborator Aaron Stewart-Ahn, “You Are A Tourist” will be the first-ever live, scripted, single-take music video to be broadcast as it is filmed.
