The National Announce September U.S. Tour Dates

The National are pleased to announce select September U.S. Tour Dates on the East Coast! Tour stops include storied venues such as Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, MD, The Academy Of Music in Philadelphia, and the Bank of America Pavilion in Boston. They are honored to have Yo La Tengo and Wye Oak join them as support for these shows.

Following the east coast shows, they’ll rush off to Los Angeles to play the Hollywood Bowl on September 11th, supported by Neko Case and Sharon Van Etten.

The National have toured steadily since the May 2010 release of their critically acclaimed 5th album, High Violet (4AD). They will spend much of July and August abroad, with a headlining turn at Latitude Festival and stops at Reading, Leeds, Skanderborg, Ruisrock, Rock Werchter among others.

The band recorded two new songs which became available on iTunes this past spring. “Exile Vilify” appears in the video game “Portal 2” and “Think You Can Wait” appears in the film “Win Win” starring Paul Giamatti.
