   [...] Anna Calvi made her network television debut on David Letterman’s show last night (July 27) with this version of “Desire” from her eponymously titled debut album. It’s too bad we don’t get any shots of the audience here, as it would be fascinating to see what they made of Calvi’s odd marrying of goth impulses and spiky rock moves. This is probably the best song from that debut record—it’s certainly the one with the most commercial appeal—but it’s still hard to see the Letterman crowd taking to her after this. Even the host seems a little bemused as he tries to crack a few jokes with the band at the end. [via The Audio Perv] [...]
