Jane’s Addiction To Play on Kimmel Thursday October 6

JANE’S ADDICTION will perform this Thursday night, October 6, on ABC-TV’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live!,” marking the pioneering alt-rock band’s first late-night TV performance in eight years.

On the show’s outdoor stage, the band–frontman Perry Farrell, guitarist Dave Navarro and drummer Stephen Perkins, along with Chris Chaney on bass—will perform the transfixing “Irresistible Force,” a Top Ten hit on the alternative rock chart, and then one of their classic songs. “Irresistible Force” is the first official single from THE GREAT ESCAPE ARTIST (Capitol), their first studio album in eight years due out October 18. It was produced by Rich Costey (Muse, Franz Ferdinand, Interpol), with TV on the Radio’s Dave Sitek on the creative team. Sitek, best known for his production work for TV on the Radio, Yeah Yeah Yeahs and the Foals, is writing, programming, and playing bass on the album.

“…frontman Perry Farrell and guitarist Dave Navarro both put in stunning performances…It sounds like a band revitalized.”
–William Goodman, Spin.com, August 3, 2011

“… [‘Irresistible Force’] comes on like an art-metal freak show set on some distant planet.”
— Will Hermes, Rolling Stone, August 3, 2011

“…remains a potent alt rock power on ‘Irresistible Force’…”
— People, August 22, 2011
