After recently playing an energetic and captivating set that quickly changed onlookers to fans when opening for Sweden’s Teddybears at Irving Plaza, Kid Savant is ready to reenact the night in their home-borough of Brooklyn. Don’t miss your next chance to see Kid Savant perform the forthcoming Drop It on the Stereo live. In the words of Depth of Field Magazine, “The performance was infectious, a statement of intent and potential. It was a glimpse of a group full of possibility, filling a club with a sound scaled for a stadium: a band far bigger than themselves, heading for far bigger things.”
The 5 song EP produced by Sylvia Massy (Tool, Prince) and mixed by Alex Aldi (Passion Pit), opens with the crunchy synth driven “NaNa Never Ends” – that will not only get your feet tapping, but ingrain its melody in your head for hours. Another EP highlight “4 Years” (free download) alongside it’s spectacular video, is a rock masterpiece with its atmospheric bridges juxtaposed with a chorus that explodes into a wave of emotional fervor. Meanwhile, title track “Drop it on the Stereo” exemplifies the stunning range in lead vocalist Ryan Weisberger’s distinct voice that straddles the fine line of monotone and melodic baritone.
Kid Savant will promptly hit the stage at 9:30 PM, with later sets by Atlantic/Pacific and Dangerbird Records’ Maritime (Ex-members of The Promise Ring & The Dismemberment Plan).
We also want to remind you that in addition to heading to Knitting Factory, you should come to the Delancey one week later to catch them at our AWESOME CMJ DAY PARTY!
