Due to overwhelming demand, Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame members TOM PETTY & THE HEARTBREAKERS are excited to announce they will be adding a second concert to the first Benefit Concert for Public Radio station 88.5 FM KCSN/Los Angeles.

The Benefit Concert will be held Sunday, October 30th, at the 500 seat Plaza del Sol Performance Hall on the campus of California State University, Northridge. Tickets for this second show will be available by listening to KCSN on Saturday, October 22nd and Sunday October 23rd. When KCSN listeners hear the ‘cue-to-call” they will call to make “Pledge For Petty”.

Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers are Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame inductees, have sold over 60 million records worldwide, and performed at the SUPER BOWL XLII HALFTIME SHOW viewed in over 230 countries.

Playing this small, intimate show is a truly rare event, about which Tom Petty spoke with the Los Angeles Times. “Young musicians I talk to now have no interest in radio at all because there are so many other ways to get new music,” Petty said. “I feel that radio could and should offer a sense of discovery of new music. There’s no reason the Fleet Foxes shouldn’t be played alongside Pink Floyd.”

88.5 FM KCSN Program Director Sky Daniels exclaimed, “Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers are not only one of the greatest bands of all time, they are true believers in the power of rock n’ roll. For them to selflessly want to perform this show speaks volumes for their love of music, and their willingness to support KCSN’s effort to build a radio station devoted to breaking new artists, supporting local artists, and respecting great legacy artists.

Tom and the Heartbreakers recognized the overwhelming demand and wanted to give more fans a chance to see them in this intimate hall, as well as help KCSN and Public Radio”

Proceeds from the Pledge Drive will be used to support growth initiatives for KCSN, including signal improvements and community outreach. A portion of proceeds will also go to benefit National Public Radio’s Music Initiative. KCSN launched its “Smart Rock” format on July 15th, 2011.
Tickets to see Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers will be available through supporting pledges to KCSN. The station will offer the chance to pledge for tickets at random times throughout the Pledge Drive, beginning on Saturday October 15th. Orchestra Pit tickets will be made available to KCSN members only via the station’s Pledge Auction taking place between October 14 and October 23 at auctions.kcsn.org.The auctions will also include one-of-a-kind autographed memorabilia from U2, Coldplay, Jack Johnson, Mumford & Sons, Mick Jagger, and more. All ticketing and KCSN membership details are available at kcsn.org and by listening to 88.5 FM KCSN.

Joining Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers on this bill will be Jakob Dylan as well as breakout new artist, Lissie.

Jakob Dylan, a two time Grammy winner, has had both critical and commercial acclaim for his solo efforts, including “Women And Country” and “Seeing Things”. Recently he released “Gonna Be A Darkness” on the True Blood 3 soundtrack. Of course, his work leading The Wallflowers has sold millions of records, making him one of the most celebrated artists in recent years.

Lissie’s debut album Catching A Tiger was named iTunes UK’s “Album Of The Year” in 2010, and she has garnered significant press attention from outlets including Billboard, Esquire, The Los Angeles Times,The New York Times, SPIN, and USA Today.
