2011
The cult following that has developed with Third Eye Blind in the last years has been difficult to describe to anyone who hasn’t been there. During the recording of the band’s forthcoming album, due out Spring 2012, the band had an idea to capture the fans during one of the band’s most popular songs.
In October 2011 at a sold-out show in New York City, 3eb captured this fan intensity by turning the cameras on the audience and playing a song that has only appeared on a compilation album due to the controversial lyrics. Some of the footage was filmed on iPhones, and what it shows is a band in exchange with a new generation of fans who are as passionate as any ever.
Previews for the “Slow Motion” video are playing at select cinema theaters throughout the month of November and the single is now available on iTunes.
Third Eye Blind is currently in the studio working on their fifth studio album to be released spring 2012. 3eb’s last album Ursa Major debuted at number one and stayed # 1 for six straight days on iTunes, plus entered at # 3 on Billboard’s Top 200. 3eb’s last 2011 spring tour set attendance records for the band’s career.
