2011
Last year, Matisyahu surprised his fans when he released a brand new track entitled “Miracle” on the first night of Chanukah along with a music video that went viral, reaching over 900,000 views on YouTube. “Miracle” quickly became the modern Chanukah anthem and garnered attention from the likes of The Huffington Post, Spinner, NPR and Paste. Now, back by popular demand, Matisyahu will release his Miracle EP digitally and physically November 21st, via Fallen Sparks Records/Thirty Tigers and Red Distribution. The Miracle EP features alternate versions of “Miracle” including a track with his band Dub Trio, guest vocals by rapper Shyne, a remix by freshman UC Boulder student Miniweapon, a beatboxing and acoustic version. Stream the Miracle EP in its entirety on RollingStone.com NOW. Click HERE to listen.
Matisyahu will also release a limited-edition 7-inch vinyl for Record Store Day’s Black Friday on November 25 including the original and Dub Trio versions of “Miracle”. To celebrate, Matisyahu will hold an in-store acoustic performance and signing at Long Island’s premiere longstanding indie record outpost, Looney Tunes on November 25th at noon, for more details, click HERE.
“Miracle,” written by Matisyahu and Dr. Luke protégé Kool Kojak (Flo Rida, Katy Perry, Ke$ha), is drenched in joyful spirit and features chiming synths, bouncing beats and an irresistible chorus. Not since Adam Sandler’s “Hannukah Song” has the holiday had a jam so fun! The music video finds Matisyahu channeling his former hockey skills and dusting off his skates as he takes to the ice dressed in an unconventional costume. Check out the video for “Miracle” here!
Matisyahu, backed by his band Dub Trio will also be hitting the road this December on his sixth annual Festival of Light tour, kicking off on December 19th in Brooklyn, NY. This year’s Festival of Light tour includes a three night stint at the Music Hall of Williamsburg (where he holds the record for the artist with the most sold-out shows at the venue) as well as performances in Philadelphia, and DC. Tickets for the Festival of Light tour are on sale now.
