Seminal independent music festival Noise Pop will be celebrating their twentieth anniversary this February, and – as is their way – they’ll be doing it in style, showcasing some of the most impressive names throughout the last twenty years of independent music. The festival, which will take place throughout San Francisco from February 21st to February 26th, 2012, will play host to the likes of established indie rock mainstays, such as Built to Spill, Archers of Loaf, and Cursive, as well as genre-bending, new favorites, such as Die Antwoord, Grimes, Budos Band, and more. Some bands are Noise Pop mainstays; others, such as Christie Front Drive, will be playing their first Bay Area show in fifteen years in honor of Noise Pop’s twentieth birthday. A list of all confirmed performers thus far can be found below. More confirmations will be announced shortly.

The Ferocious Few will perform their set of raucous pop gems. This event also marks the kickoff of the Nightlife Noise Pop collaboration to host 6 events throughout the year in this remarkable space. http://www.noisepop.com/noise-pop-nightlife-w-the-ferocious-few/

Since it began in 1993, Noise Pop Festival has become a north star for the music industry, bringing emerging and promising talent to the forefront of their lineup. Numerous acclaimed artists have graced their stages, from The White Stripes and Yoko Ono, to Death Cab for Cutie and Bright Eyes, and many more. This six-day festival takes place across numerous event spaces in the SF area, catering to upwards of 20,000 fans. The festival has expanded in recent years to also include art gallery shows, as well as a music-centric film festival, a pop-up shop, an art exposition, an album-inspired dinner series called Covers, a weekend workshop exploring independent culture called the Noise Pop Culture Club, and much more. With all of these events, Noise Pop has solidified itself as the true amalgamator of Bay Area culture, and continues to do what it has always done best: celebrating the independent arts with the city at large.
