2011 was a remarkable year for tUnE-yArDs! April saw the release of the breakthrough sophomore album w h o k i l l (4AD), which received widespread acclaim, and ended up on countless 2011 critic’s lists, including but certainly not limited to: The New York Times, Time Magazine, NPR, The New Yorker, Pitchfork, New York Magazine, PopMatters, Paste and the list goes on and on!

Following that, band leader Merrill Garbus (sans the rest of tUnE-yArDs) will fly across the country to NYC to participate in the Preservation Hall Jazz Band 50th Anniversary Concert at Carnegie Hall this Saturday, January 7. Immediately after that Merrill will be rejoined by her tUnE-yArDs co-conspirators and travel across the globe to play dates in Australia! They’ll then head back to our shores in early February for a performance as part of the prestigious Lincoln Center American Songbook concert series on February 9 before heading back out for a European Tour!
