2012

By Michel Dussack
New York City is always filled with free concerts during the summer, and 2012 has been no exception to that rule. This past Saturday, Converse sponsored a free show featuring Mr. Dream, Jel, Rye Rye, and Sleigh Bells at Hudson River Park which is right on the Hudson River at Pier 63. Being that Sleigh Bells is a band that I’ll drop anything to see, I made sure to grab a pair of tickets early on. The band ripped through a 55 minute set that included 16 songs from both of their albums at the scenic, and perfectly set up venue. I’m happy to report that, thanks to a natural slope in the park, sightlines were perfect throughout and the sound didn’t waver even in the back. Here’s some photos of the show (sadly I missed Mr. Dream’s performance) and be sure to check out The Kills at Hudson River Park next month!
