[...] Last month, we had only heard a pair of promising tunes off Grizzly Bear’s new LP, Shields, when the quartet made a late-night stop on The Colbert Report. As of tonight, though, their record has nearly reached its arrival date (next week, though we can confirm it’s just as stunning as we’d hoped) while all tracks are now available to preview over on NPR. Perfect timing for the gang to bring the show to network television, joining Jimmy Fallon moments ago for a take on the album’s opening cut, “Sleeping Ute,” live on NBC. Suffice it to say, we’re impressed to hear how well these relatively complex studio recordings have translated to the stage.
