For some reason, people get kicks out of artists interviewing artists. Think how they feel when both parties look alike, like this video interview with Robert Ortiz (Slash wannabe) of Escape The Fate and Slash of Velvet Revolver/ex-Guns N Roses/ex-Slash’s Snakepit(Suckpit) fame. September 10, 2008 drainu182 0

Shirley Halperin over at EW.com recently spoke with Linkin Park’s Chester Bennington about the band’s future, the VMA’s and Chester solo album. Chester blasted MTV for being too young and pop-oriented

  • “Where were Foo Fighters and Nickelback?”
  • “Or even a band like Three Days Grace, who had a pretty big year? There was no Vampire Weekend or Daughtry. It was very one-sided.”
  • “I think the VMAs have completely lost touch with a broad scope of music. It was very bubble

JoJo turned down chance to be Hannah Montana, now assistant manager at Johnny Rockets?

August 13, 2008 drainu182 0

Do you remember JoJo the French Canadian teen pop “star”? (I don’t like putting ? inside quotation marks, take that grammar teachers) Well she was one of those girls that would sing about letting you do anything to her at anytime but still tried to remain innocent.. sorta like your friend’s younger sister who always wears lingerie when you’re at their house. She’s trying to tempt you but all you wanna do is play RBI Baseball 4 on Sega Genesis. You tell your one pervy friend about who reminds you how many days until that girl turns 18 (Btw, JoJo’s 18th is on December 20th haha) and you get disgusted (hopefully). Regardless, miss Joanna Noëlle Blagden Levesque (which translates to JoJo in English) turned down an opportunity worth millions of dollars American (about 1 billion dollars Canadian) to play Hannah Montana. But it’s ok, she still lives with her mom in New England which beats money and mansions and owning unicorns. Take that Miley Cyrus! You couldn’t handle the east coast.

Last week, 411 interviewed Barry Kerch, the drummer from Shinedown where he talks about selling out, working with emo-rock producer extraordinaire Rob Cavallo (Green Day, My Chemical Romance), and getting rid of bandmates. Here’s a fake excerpt:

“Interviewer: Why does your new album sound so bland compared to your last few?
Barry: Oh that’s the sound that Rob Cavallo thought would be best for us. In fact, we even have a few emo songs on this album. To get into the mood for it, we painted our fingernails black, lost a ton of weight, and wrote songs about girls who are bigger than us.

Old Foo vs. New Foo (Guess which Taylor likes?)

July 26, 2008 drainu182 0

The Denver Post sat down with Taylor Hawkins for a little interview and preview of the Foo Fighters shows at Red Rocks which ended up getting postponed because Dave Grohl hurt his vocals screaming about his rider (Just Kidding. He really was sick though). Taylor says that the first album is his favorite because it was “simple and fun” and he was a fan of the band back then. He says even though the songwriting’s progressed (partially because Dave can …
