Circles Around The Sun, the new studio album from Dispatch, is available today via the band’s own Bomber Records. Available in stores and at all digital retailers, the album was produced by Peter Katis (Interpol, Jonsi, The National), and is the band’s first studio album in over a decade. The band tweeted earlier today that they would be playing a free acoustic pop up concert at Washington Square Park in Manhattan. The show is set to start at 6:00pm EST and end when the cops show up!

Titus Andronicus have announced that they’ll be releasing their third album Local Business on October 23rd. The band will be heading out on tour afterward.

While the first two albums were elaborate concoctions, Local Business is of the earth. Titus Andronicus the studious recording project and Titus Andronicus the raucous touring machine are no longer two distinct beings; there is only Titus Andronicus, rock and roll band. This is to say, it was recorded primarily live with precious few overdubs, with an elite squad of musicians.
The lineup is: Patrick Stickles (singer/songwriter/guitarist), Eric Harm (drums), Julian Veronesi (bass), Liam Betson (guitar) and Adam Reich (guitar). The album was recorded in New Paltz, New York’s Marcata Recording with producer/engineer/mastermind Kevin McMahon. They recorded it in April and May of 2012 along with some special guests including longtime Titus session keyboardist Elio DeLuca, universally acclaimed violinist Owen Pallett, and Eric Harm’s father Steven on
harmonica. This tight-knit group is just one of the meanings behind the phrase “Local
Business”.
While abandoning the linear narrative of their last album The Monitor, the songs on Local Business aim to make explicit the implications of the first two LPs, that the inherent meaninglessness of life in an absurd universe gives the individual power to create their own values and their own morality. Along the way, we witness a devastating automobile wreck, a food fight (that is to say, a battle with an eating disorder), an electrocution, a descent into insanity, and ultimately, a forgiveness of the self for its many faults. Titus Andronicus even finds time to broaden its emotional palette to include
moments of pure positivity, brief respites from the usual doom and gloom.

With their current single “It’s Time” continuing to build at multiple radio formats, Las Vegas’ Imagine Dragons are gearing up for the September 4th release of their debut full-length album NIGHT VISIONS on KIDinaKORNER/Interscope Records. The band, which has been nominated for a 2012 MTV Video Music Award for “Best Rock Video,” has appeared on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno and will perform on Jimmy Kimmel Live! the day NIGHT VISIONS is released.
“This is our first full length album, and we wanted to do it right,” says lead singer Dan Reynolds. “For the first time, we can say we know what our identity is, and we know this is our jumping off point for future albums. We love big and interesting rhythms, and sweeping melodies and huge choruses. We want people to feel something when they hear our music.”
NIGHT VISIONS follows on the band’s fourth EP Continued Silence, which recently topped the New Artist Alternative album chart. Blaqk Audio is the electronic dance music outfit composed of Davey Havok and Jade Puget, originally from the multi-platinum rock juggernaut, AFI. The EDM industry has flourished around them since their 2007 release, CexCells, and it is now time for the endlessly talented duo to leave their own eternal imprint on the scene. Deriving inspiration from the electro-industrial waves of acts like Skinny Puppy and Depeche Mode as well as more modern artists like Knife Party, Porter Robinson, Bag Raiders, and Underworld, Havok and Puget create a complex, futuristic soundscape, marked with thumping, twinkling synth grinders, mid-tempo pop anthems, and dramatic wailing ballads.
Their upcoming sophomore album, Bright Black Heaven, is slated to be released September 11th on Big Death Records (Distributed by Superball Music). It is an expansion on CexCells derived from both experience and a furthering of it’s “hedonistic agenda,” but still has the familiar feel of Davey and Jade creating music together. With excellent mixing provided by Dave Bascombe (Depeche Mode and Erasure), Lars Stalfors (The Mars Volta), and Michael Patterson (Trent Reznor), this multifarious release will be marked by inspiration and experience. Maintaining a dark undercurrent below the glossy surface, Bright Black Heaven,remains true to the duo’s roots all the while toying with the listeners preconceived definition of electronic music.
Having performed alongside electronic front-runners like Wolfgang Gartner, MSTRKRFT, Dada Life, and Underworld, the duo have often bridged the gap between rock and dance fans alike. As producer Jade Puget so eloquently put it:

Modern progressive rock band Coheed and Cambria’s upcoming sixth studio album will be a double concept album entitled, ‘The Afterman,’ and will be released in two separate full-length volumes. The band made the announcement today via a cinematic video trailer on their official website. The first volume, ‘The Afterman: Ascension,’ will be available on both physical and digital platforms October 9, 2012 via Hundred Handed/Everything Evil, and distributed through Fontana/Ingrooves. The second volume, ‘The Afterman: Descension’ is slated for release in February 2013. The band has also confirmed a handful of intimate Northeast U.S. club shows leading up to the release of ‘The Afterman,’ starting September 13 in Kingston, NY (dates are below).

A deluxe version of the ‘The Afterman’ will include a hardcover coffee-table book with expansive art by Heidi Taillefer and Nathan Spoor with collaborative written work from singer/creator Claudio Sanchez and writer Peter David that will create a song by song experience. David previously worked with Sanchez on the prose novel adaptation of the band’s 2010 album “Year of the Black Rainbow,” and the graphic novel adaptation of their 2003 album “In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth: 3 (which reached #4 on the New York Times Bestsellers list for graphic novels earlier this year).” All the band’s titles, including ‘The Afterman,’ fall into a grand sci-fi story arc called ‘The Amory Wars.”
It was announced previously at this month’s San Diego Comic Con that The Amory Wars has been picked up by Mark Wahlberg and Stephen Levinson of Leverage Productions to be developed into a live-action feature film.
Musically, ‘The Afterman’ sees the band perfecting their powerhouse progressive rock, soul and even pop landscapes. The dual release also marks the return of original drummer Josh Eppard, who the band parted ways with in 2006, bringing with him his benchmark percussive grooves. Coheed and Cambria self-financed and co-produced ‘The Afterman,’ alongside Michael Birnbaum and Chris Bittner, who produced the band’s first 3 albums, in Woodstock, NY. The album was mixed by Rich Costey (Muse, The Shins, Foster the People) and Ryan Williams (30 Seconds To Mars).
“This is without a doubt, the most honest record I’ve ever written,” says Sanchez. “Though all the songs can be interpreted through our main character in the story, they were initially written in a very spontaneous manner.” “In the past,” he continues,” I’ve always had a predetermined idea of what the story was going to be when I approached the songs. With ‘The Afterman’ being a new story within the (“The Amory Wars”) arc, I allowed the events of my life to drive the concept, and therefore opened up the songwriting to a fuller degree.”

About The Amory Wars: An epic, sci-fi fantasy set in an alternate universe (Heaven’s Fence) that chronicles the rise of superhuman dictator Wilhelm Ryan, and the one family that could hold the key to liberating the world from his tyrannical reign. Newly-signed Warner Bros Records artists The Indecent will be releasing their debut EP “Control” on September 18, 2012. The title track recently premiered via Nylon magazine
Born and raised in New York City, triplets Emily, Bo and Maddy Brout were influenced by the sounds of Sonic Youth, Black Sabbath and Jefferson Airplane from an early age. The Brouts discovered guitars at the age of eight and started writing songs as a hobby, eventually becoming The Indecent when producer/A&R Tim Sommer – who helped develop acts like the Beastie Boys and Maroon 5 – paired them up with drummer Nick Burrows.
The Indecent posted their homemade recordings online and immediately began drawing comparisons that ranged from grunge icons like Nirvana to proto-punk acts like Patti Smith. On the strength of these demos alone the foursome toured throughout the UK, landing on the cover of British fashion mag Disorder, and recently they took the stage in New York for Joey Ramone’s Annual Birthday Bash at Webster Hall.
Recorded at Lightning Sound and East West Recording Studios in LA with WBR Chairman Rob Cavallo and Julian Raymond, “Control” is five songs of unbridled energy and aggression that’s rooted in rock’s gritty past while still stretching toward its future: their music sounds like Seattle grunge and New York in the 70′s had a baby through an 18 year-old surrogate in 2012.
UK sensation Ellie Goulding has announced that she will release a brand-new album, entitled Halcyon, on October 9th on Cherrytree/ Interscope Records. All the tracks on the album were written and co-produced by Ellie Goulding and the majority were recorded in a converted barn in Ellie’s hometown in the Hay Valley, West England with producer Jim Elliot (Kylie / Ladyhawke).
“This album for me is a journey from dark into light from confusion to understanding,” Goulding says. “I didn’t set out to write a break-up record but I think it became one.” A lyric video for the first single from the album, “Anything Could Happen,” will premiere on VEVO on August 13th, followed by the release of the single via all digital retailers on August 21st.
Fans got a taste of the new album earlier this month when Goulding posted a free download of a new track “Hanging On” featuring Tinie Tempah. On July 31st, Legacy Recordings will be releasing an album called I Am An Elvis Fan. Back in May, they launched the I Am An Elvis Fan campaign in conjunction with Elvis Presley Enterprises calling for fans to cast a vote to help compile the first-ever U.S fan-voted album by Elvis Presley. 250,000 votes were cast and the top-voted songs will comprise this new 21 song collection that will be available digitally and physically via RCA/Legacy.
The campaign also invited fans to upload a photo of themselves to be used in an Elvis photo mosaic created by EPE licensee Fan Mosaics. The mosaic – created from nearly 8,000 uploaded photos – will be used for both the I AM AN ELVIS FAN album cover and a limited edition poster.
The release leads into “Elvis Week,” a celebration to be held August 10-17 in Memphis to commemorate the 35th anniversary of Presley’s passing.
