Australian musician Gotye was on KCRW’s Morning Becomes Eclectic today performing songs from his upcoming release Making Mirrors which will be released in the States on January 31st (Samples’N'Seconds/Fairfax Recordings/Universal Republic). You can watch it all HERE. KCRW will also be presenting Gotye’s upcoming Los Angeles, CA show on February 2nd at the El Rey Theatre. Tickets go on sale on Saturday, November 19th.

Already, Making Mirrors has garnered a lot of attention thanks to his haunting first single “Somebody That I Used To Know,” featuring guest vocals by New Zealand singer Kimbra. Within three weeks of its striking stop-frame, body-painting video being posted on YouTube, the song had received more than two million hits and made it to No.1 on the Hype Machine Twitter chart. To date, the track has over 15 million hits on YouTube; check it out HERE.

Gotye also received seven nominations for this year’s ARIA Awards airing on November 27th, including Single of the Year, Best Pop Release and Best Male Artist. Additionally he has been awarded an ARIA in the following categories: Best Video, Engineer of the Year and Producer of the Year. Gotye recently took NYC by storm during CMJ where The New York Times called his performance “some of the most promising music heard at CMJ.”

Tickets for Florence and the Machine’s album launch show at the Hackney Empire in London sold out within a minute. The new album Ceremonials will be released October 31st in the UK via Island and November 1st in the U.S. via Universal Republic.

Tomorrow October 25th, the entire show will be streaming live in real time across the world. The gig will cost $6.38 / £3.99 to view, after which fans will also be able download an official souvenir program that will include a signed set-list and performance notes from Florence.

American Express, in partnership with VEVO and YouTube, announced today that Grammy® award-winning rock band, and international sensation Coldplay will be the latest performer in its popular livestream music series, “American Express Unstaged.” The performance will be livestreamed globally from one of Spain’s most famous arenas, Plaza de Toros de Las Ventas in Madrid, at 4:00PM ET / 1:00PM PT on Wednesday, October 26 at www.youtube.com/coldplayVEVO and will be available on mobile devices via VEVO and YouTube apps for iPhone, iPod touch, iPad and Android. The global event will come just two days after Coldplay’s critically-acclaimed fifth studio album, MYLO XYLOTO (Capitol Records), hits stores.
