VEVO, the world’s leading all-premium music video and entertainment platform, is celebrating the 20th anniversary of Nirvana’s ground-breaking album, Nevermind, with an exclusive commercial-free 24-hour on-demand airing of the band’s 1991 concert, Live at Paramount. The high definition concert can be seen on-demand in most countries around the globe at VEVO, YouYube and VEVO Mobile on Tuesday, September 27 beginning at 12 Noon ET / 5pm GMT. A 24-hour encore will air Monday, October 31, the actual 20th anniversary of the concert.

VEVO’s 24-hour offering marks the first time portions of the concert, shot October 31, 1991 at Seattle’s Paramount Theatre, will be shown online. Live at Paramount is the only known Nirvana concert shot to film.

VEVO is previewing the concert stream with a performance of “Territorial Pissings” and “Breed” taken from the concert and currently available on-demand. Following the full concert offering on September 27, “Territorial Pissings” and “Breed,” as well a performance of “Aneurysm,” will be available across VEVO on-demand.

Live at Paramount is included in the Nevermind 20th anniversary deluxe set, which Universal Music Enterprises will release on Tuesday, September 27. With configurations ranging from a 4-CD/1-DVD Super Deluxe Edition to a standard digital/CD remaster of the original album, the 20th anniversary reissue unearths dozens of previously unreleased recordings, obscure B-sides, alternate mixes, radio sessions, studio rarities and live recordings, including the Live at Paramount concert available for the first time on CD, DVD and Blu-ray.

Released in September 1991, Nirvana’s sophomore album and major label debut elevated Kurt Cobain, Krist Novoselic and Dave Grohl from a critically acclaimed Aberdeen, Washington, cult band to generational spokesmen who’d unwittingly created a cultural shift and musical touchstone. Rising to No. 1 the world over by year’s end and ultimately selling over 30 million copies worldwide, Nevermind, would come to be much more than one of the most successful and influential albums of its or any era. As the album that returned unaffected rock ’n’ roll integrity and passion to the top of the charts, Nevermind would prove a singular inspiration to fans and musicians alike over the last two decades–and will undoubtedly do so for generations to come.

September 5th would have been legendary frontman Freddie Mercury’s 65th birthday. To mark the occasion, Queen will stream their historic 1986 concert Queen Live At Wembley Stadium for 48 hours on YouTube. The concert can be viewed at www.youtube/queenofficial starting at 12:00AM EST on September 5th. This is the first time in Queen has allowed an online stream of this watershed moment in the band’s career. The concert captures the group’s historic July 1986 two-night performance at London’s Wembley Stadium, where they gave an electrifying performance to 150,000 frenzied fans. The footage features stunning live renditions of many of Queen’s classic songs, including fan favorites such as “We Will Rock You,” “We Are The Champions” and “Bohemian Rhapsody.”

One year after their triumphant appearance at Live Aid, Queen (vocalist Freddie Mercury, guitarist Brian May, drummer Roger Taylor and bassist John Deacon) returned to Wembley for two consecutive sold-out concerts. Queen Live At Wembley Stadium documents the second night, July 12th, 1986. The footage highlights Queen’s dazzling performance, which blended older classics like “Seven Seas of Rhye” and “Tie Your Mother Down” with new audience favorites such as “Radio Ga Ga” and “Hammar To Fall.”

Queen Live At Wembley Stadium showcases the legendary rock band’s versatility, musical range and showmanship on their most successful tour. “The Wembley concerts were the pinnacle for us,” says May. “We were at our height band-wise, and Freddie had developed this phenomenal way of dealing with stadium audiences. Being back home in London playing two sell-out nights was such a big, big occasion for us. None us realized that this would be almost the last time we would play together.”

Queen Live At Wembley Stadium is one of the most spectacular rock concerts of all time. The YouTube stream of the concert includes:

A 14+ hour time difference and over 16,000 miles are tough barriers to breach. Yowie.com is making it a bit easier for Sydney’s The Jezabels to connect with their fans overseas via a live chat, scheduled for Thursday, August 25th. The band plans to answer fans’ questions about their European and North American tours this Fall as well as their upcoming debut LP Prisoner. Interpol, Deerhunter, Fucked Up, Melvins and ISIS have all used Yowie to connect with fans so please share the link, RSVP, embed the live chat code, and log in on August 25th!

The Australian moody-pop quartet The Jezabels has been all over the world and back. Upon completing their European tour in September, the four will be returning to the U.S. and Canada in November to tour with the Canadian indie rock band Hey Rosetta! While already a well-recognized name at home, The Jezabels has been building an international buzz since their first North American shows at last year’s CMJ Music Festival in New York. The hype has escalated through Canadian Music Week, Austin’s SXSW, and Brighton’s Great Escape. In between, they’ve toured Canada, the U.S., Australia, the UK, and Western Europe. Now warriors of the road, the band has continued to perfect their self-described “intense-indie” live show, bringing “emotional intensity and grace” (Chart Attack) to the stage, and are excited to be returning to North America in the fall.

After releasing a trilogy of EPs, the band is currently putting the finishing touches on their debut LP Prisoner. A preview of the album can be found in their newest track “Eternal Summer” available for download and sharing. As heralded by The A.V. Club, “Pitched somewhere between The Cranberries’ edge-of-the-world howl and Arcade Fire’s fiery emotional release, (their three EPs) shot the Sydney quartet to the top of the Australian charts; its forthcoming full-length debut seeks to do the same internationally.”

Mariachi El Bronx (II) – the second full-length studio album from Mariachi El Bronx, the alter ego of acclaimed Los Angeles-based punk outfit The Bronx – was released today by White Drugs/ATO Records. The band will make its network television debut on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” tomorrow, performing the album’s first single “48 Roses.” For a limited time, fans can get a free download of “48 Roses.”

The band’s in-store performance at Amoeba Records in Hollywood will be streamed live at 6 p.m. today. Tonight and tomorrow night, August 2 and 3, they’ll perform at record release parties at La Cita in downtown Los Angeles. The band will then embark on a series of European dates – including five shows with Gogol Bordello and appearances at the Reading and Leeds festivals in the UK. Mariachi El Bronx will be joining Foo Fighters on the road this fall. The North American tour kicks off on September 14 and includes two nights at The Forum in Los Angeles (October 13 & 14). The band will also play the Austin City Limits Music Festival on September 18. (See below for itinerary.)

“Mariachi El Bronx (II) triumphs because not only does it treat the West Mexican musical idiom with respect, it raises the bar for future directions and possibilities,” said Alternative Press in a four-star review. “It’s a lively, and surprisingly kitsch-free, take on music that’s steeped in tradition,” noted NPR’s “All Things Considered” in a review of Mariachi El Bronx (II). “There’s really only one way to play mariachi, even if you’re a punk rocker — you have to mean it, right down to the last neatly chopped acoustic-guitar chord….On II, inside the tales of lost love and other tragedies, there’s plenty of tradition balanced by shots of pure joy and irreverence.” “On ‘48 Roses,’ Mariachi El Bronx shows they did their homework with an upbeat tune filled with tasty string runs and just the right dose of melodrama,” observed WNYC.org.

Mariachi El Bronx – comprising Matt Caughthran (vocals), Joby J. Ford (vihuela), Jorma Vik (drums), Brad Magers (trumpet), Ken Mochikoshi Horne (jarana), Vincent Hidalgo (guitarrón) and Ray Suen (violin) – was conceived in 2006, after The Bronx was asked to perform unplugged on Fuel TV. They did so as a mariachi band and discovered what they describe as “a second soul within.” Touring the world as The Bronx, they simultaneously began writing songs for Mariachi El Bronx, which was released in 2009. Both their debut album and II were co-produced by the band with former Oingo Boingo member John Avila.
