Scars on Broadway “World Long Gone” Video

September 10, 2008 drainu182 0

Joel Schumaker (of crappy mid 90s Batman movies and The Number 23) directed the video for “World Long Gone”, the second single from System Of A Down side project Scars on Broadway. Something tells me that this is just as “good” as Schumaker’s previous work. Watch it over here. What do you think?

Canada hates Oasis but loves The Foo (Virgin Fest 08)

September 8, 2008 drainu182 0

This past weekend Richard Branson’s Virgin Fest (V Fest) hit Toronto, Canada with the Foo Fighters and Oasis headlining Saturday and Sunday respectively. While Saturday’s show rocked non-violenty, Sunday had far different results. Noel Gallager, Oasis’s guitarist, was attacked by a fan who pushed him to the ground which proves my point that Canada hates Oasis. Here are two videos of the incident as well as videos from the other bands (Bloc Party, MGMT, Against Me!).

Radiohead and Kings of Leon (yawn) played All Points West in Jersey

August 11, 2008 drainu182 0

If you went to the All Points West Festival this weekend and didn’t watch Radiohead, you pretty much wasted your time and money. This festival should’ve been called “Radiohead-fest” because most of the other bands pretty much were no-names, has-beens or never-will-bes. I mean Kings of Leon played and Duffy and The Duke Spirit but could you justify dropping over 80 bucks a day on this crap? I saw Radiohead play in Liberty State Park before and I think I spent under 40 bucks for that show. 40 dollars less and a lot less crap. Plus getting to Jersey City is a pain in the ass. It has more one-way streets than Manhattan and Philly combined. And if you think that you’re better off taking the train or light rail, I laugh in your face. Ha Ha. This festival was run/promoted by Goldenvoice who do Coachella (EXCELLENT FESTIVAL) so you’d think that it’d be a better show but come on.. Duffy? Rodrigo y Gabriela? Wow dudes, you need to at least put Chuck Berry on like Virgin Mobile Fest did. Watch the videos because they’re free here.

Virgin Mobile Fest in Baltimore was alright, needs cooler name (phones doing it for the first time? eww)

August 11, 2008 drainu182 0

This weekend, if you were anywhere besides Baltimore or Jersey City, you missed some good music and your life sucked. Who knew you’d hear that for NOT being in those cities? At the Virgin Mobile Fest this year, Foo Fighters, STP, NIN, Chuck Berry (yeah, really) and a bunch of other washed up bands played. For absolute full coverage, go here and here. I’ll have more videos besides these if I find anything of quality. Enjoy

Bloc Party rocked Webster Hall 8/7/08

August 10, 2008 drainu182 0

I went with a buddy of mine to see Bloc Party on Thursday night. It kicked ass. Longwave opened. They were alright. They used to have a popular song back in the day but they sound more indie now.. which probably helps them. Anyways, here’s the setlist thanks to Kevin from blocparty.net for the setlist. Click to read it and watch videos from the show
