Concert Review: Three Days Grace and Alter Bridge at Roseland Ballroom NYC 7/11

July 14, 2008 drainu182 0

So I happened to get free tickets to see Three Days Grace and Alter Bridge play the MLB All Star Game Kickoff Concert at the Roseland Ballroom in New York City, NY. Unfortunately, the venue was half-full because

  1. No one sells out Roseland Ballroom anymore.
  2. MLB decided to promote the Bon Jovi concert at Central Park the next day (which I would’ve gone to but it wasn’t guaranteed admission, first come first serve my ass)

Shakira and her “honest” hips are going to Live Nation

July 4, 2008 drainu182 3

Shakira became the latest artist to leave their label for a deal with Live Nation following Madonna and Jay-Z. She’ll reportedly make at least 69,500,000 dollars more than you would in your whole life. In return, Live Nation gets a cut of Shakira’s touring, merch opportunities (all hip and lap dances, etc), future album releases (after her deal for three more albums with Epic is up) and her soul(provided that Live Nation can cut a deal with the devil).

Glastonbury Festival: Jay-Z kicks ass, Amy Winehouse punches fan, “usual show”

June 29, 2008 drainu182 0

This weekend they had some music festival in England where a bunch of rock bands and a rapper played. Unsurprisingly, the rapper was the best act on the bill. Jay-Z made Noel Gallagher look like a punk by covering Oasis’s Wonderwall and proceeding to mesmerize the crowd. Thanks to The Hip Hop Chronicle, you can read a full review with pictures and watch the entire set or just watch..

Scott Weiland hates reporters, might have bronchitis, rocks Hollywood Bowl

June 29, 2008 drainu182 0

In an interview with LA Times writer Chris Lee, Scott Weiland snapped at him when asked about spending time in jail, ruining the band, doing drugs, etc. He also spit a “green loogie” at the wall. I googled green mucus and found out that it’s a symptom of bronchitis. Fortunately for us, Scott Weiland rocks out with his sock out and killed at the Hollywood Bowl this past week.
