Before Brooklyn based noise rock band A Place to Bury Strangers opened up for Cage the Elephant and The Gaslight Anthem at the official Orion Music and More Preshow at Atlantic City’s House of Blues, we got to sit down with bassist Dion Lunadon to chat about their new album Worship, what it was like to be asked to play Orion, and why being dubbed “The Loudest Band in NYC” doesn’t really mean anything.

A Place To Bury Strangers Premiere New Track “And I’m Up”, Announce Tour Dates and Record Release Show in July

A Place To Bury Strangers have premiered the second single off their new album, Worship. The song is “And I’m Up” and premiered at Consequence of Sound today. On “And I’m Up,” Strangers apply their fuzzy filter to a song the grows out of a more straightforward pop sensibility. It’s something singer Oliver Ackermann calls “that classic 50’s vibe our parents grew up loving oh so much and then cramming down our throats through subliminal early life listening.”

The Joy Formidable Kick Off US Tour Tonight in SF

The Joy Formidable are about to embark on their first headlining US Tour of 2012, beginning on March 12 in San Francisco, CA. A number of the tour’s dates have already sold out, including two straight nights in San Francisco, Boston, and Toronto. The tour goes until April 2 in Toronto, with support along the tour provided by A Place To Bury Strangers and Exitmusic. Big Black Delta opens the SF shows as well as the LA show.
