SXSW is not quite right until Rachael Ray’s Feedback party arrives. If you didn’t have a badge and wanted to go to a party with all the buzz bands of the festival as well as a few artists who were only playing one show, you wanted to be at Stubb’s last Saturday. Oh, and Rachael provided all the food and booze that you could handle! Our photographer Phil DeSimone was there to get some great shots of Jimmy Cliff, GIVERS, ZZ Top’s Billy Gibbons performing with The Cringe and of course of Rachael! Check them out below:

On Friday night January 23rd, Conan O Brien hosted his last episode of the Tonight Show. Only seven months after taking over the show from Jay Leno, Conan will be stepping down (with a multimillion dollar offer, let’s not feel too bad for the guy). For his final show, Conan had Neil Young on as his musical guest who performed “Long May You Run.” Will Ferrell led an all star performance of Lynyrd Skynyrd’s “Freebird” featuring ZZ Top’s Billy Gibbons, Ben Harper (this guy’s on every show lately!), Beck, and even Mr. O’ Brien on guitar. Oh yes, and a return of the cowbell. We’ll miss you Conan but we look forward to your return. Check out the music performances as well as Conan’s farewell speech below:

It’s been over a week since we wrote about Slash. Not because there hasn’t been Slash news. In fact, The Perv is a little sick of Slash. That’s why we didn’t talk about him at Sam Ash this week. So McFarlane Toys has made an action figure of Slash that looks like him in Guitar Hero 3. It comes out in February and has 15 movable parts. This makes me long for the days of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.. sigh.

In other Slash news, he talked to Rolling Stone about finding a replacement for Scott Weiland in Velvet Revolver. Slash mentions how the initial concept for the band was to be heavy but they ended up going on a different turn (umm because it sold more records, duh) and that they wouldn’t make the same mistake this time. Slash also said that his infamous Les Paul that he used on several Guns N Roses videos/tours was stolen in 1998 and Gibson made him a brand new one, exact to the specs of his previous one.

And finally, Slash will be performing at the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame Tribute to Les Paul on November 15th with Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top, Richie Sambora from Bon Jovi and others. Les Paul will be there too and his 93 year old ass schooled Slash.
