The Killers’ Brandon Flowers will be playing select West Coast dates this spring, culminating in a set at this year’s Coachella festival. These very special dates are on sale NOW.

These shows will feature the same band that Flowers took on the road this past fall in support of his critically acclaimed solo album, Flamingo, out now on Island Records. Flamingo, produced by Stuart Price, Daniel Lanois, and Brendan O’Brien, is a stunning 10-song collection that received rapturous response upon its release last year. Live, these songs take on new dimensions, all anchored by Flowers’ show-stopping performance.

Praise for Flamingo:

“Flamingo, the Killers front man’s solo debut, perfects the haunted shimmering quality of the Vegas quartet’s 2008 international hit Day & Age.” – Vanity Fair

“…the hooks on Flamingo [are] irresistible…” – Rolling Stone

Praise for Flowers’ live show:

“Flowers’ performance was focused, and his singing felt emphatic as he leaned into the music as if it were a windstorm.” – New York Post

“Brandon Flowers is one of the…most exquisite people I’ve ever shared a room with… He’s odd and rare because he seeks authentic sanctity and it participates in him, illuminating him like a live diamond.” – Huffington Post

The dates are:

4/10/11 Zapopan, MEX @ Teatro Estudio Cavaret

4/11/11 Mexico City, MEX @ Vive Cuervo Salon

4/14/11 San Diego, CA @ House of Blues

Fran Healy, lead singer and songwriter of multi-platinum selling Scottish rock band Travis, is very excited to release his debut solo album WRECKORDER (pre-order), today October 5th on Ryko / Wreckord Label. Beginning November 10th in Los Angeles, CA, Healy will join The Killers’ front man Brandon Flowers for a two-week tour of the United States.

“WRECKORDER proves to be Healy’s most thoughtful work since Travis’ The Invisible Band” raves The Onion, while Filter Magazine praises Healy’s “effortless craftsmanship and wide range … that work to perfection.” Alternative Press goes on to say that WRECKORDER “gives Healy the chance to stretch his range with positive results. WRECKORDER is a worthy debut.” The London Times simply says Healy’s solo debut “returns the Scotsman to his best.”

Healy is currently donating part of the proceeds from his special edition package of WRECKORDER (pre-order) to the Save The Children organization. Actively involved with the organization, Healy has already made two trips to Sudan and launched one of the largest global campaigns to help more than ten million children.

Brandon Flowers seems to have a knack for talking a lot and annoying people (like when he compared Sam’s Town to Springsteen’s music and called it “one of the best albums in the past twenty years”). Flowers recently spoke to NME.com about his desire for The Killers to be as popular in the US as they are in Britain. His biggest obstacle? The American music fan.

“We’ve been embraced in Britain in a way that I’ll never understand, and it’s such a wonderful thing,” he declared. “But over here [in America], people are still so obsessed with Led Zeppelin and Nirvana, those sorts of bands, that nobody else is allowed [to grow].”

He added: “It’s not just us; there are a lot of great bands that have been held down or confined by the influence of these people that we’ve put up on pedestals. I’m tired of it, you know? I just want to knock them all off! And people don’t like that attitude. It’s almost like they don’t believe that it’s possible that anybody else can be the real deal.

“It doesn’t matter how many great songs we write or how many great shows we play. But we’re slowly chipping away at it. With this last album ['Day And Age'], there’s been a noticeable shift but we’re still nowhere near where we are in Europe.”
