CITY AND COLOUR today announces that two more shows have been added to his first major U.S. tour. Philadelphia sold out first, with a second night added for December 8, now a second night has been added in San Francisco on November 5 and a second night in Detroit on November 25.

City and Colour’s U.S. tour is set to begin November 3, 2011 in Los Angeles, California and end on December 10th in Washington, DC at the venerable 9:30 Club. City and Colour will be touring in support of his third full-length album, Little Hell, which was released on June 7 (Vagrant/Dine Alone) and debuted at #27on the Billboard Top 200 chart and #7 on the Top Independent Albums chart – the highest US debut ever for Canadian singer/songwriter Dallas Green.

Pre-sales for the new dates begin tomorrow, Wednesday, September 7 at 10am local time in each city and run until Thursday, September 8 while pre-sale quantities last. Tickets go on sale to the general public on September 9 and fans will be able to purchase tickets during pre-sale straight from cityandcolour.ca/tour.

Little Hell – named after the album’s title track, a song that explores the little heavens and little hells that comprise a relationship – is the highly anticipated follow-up to 2008’s Bring Me Your Love, which was certified platinum in Green’s native Canada, where Little Hell debuted at #1 and has already received gold certification.

City and Colour has the unique distinction of having sold out every single headlining show the band has ever performed in the U.S. and this tour will be the first time fans in several cities will have the chance to hear Green’s one-in-a-million voice live.

Today NPR’s World Café will air a special performance from City and Colour. The first single from Little Hell, “Fragile Bird” is currently climbing the radio charts and the video is in rotation at MTVU and Fuse.

Green – who has won Juno’s (Canadian Grammy’s) for ALTERNATIVE ALBUM OF THE YEAR (2007), SONGWRITER OF THE YEAR (2009) – has enjoyed incredible success around the globe – his City and Colour show at London’s prestigious Royal Albert Hall this past April sold out in mere hours.

City and Colour has spent most of 2011 performing at festivals including SXSW, Coachella, Sasquatch, Glastonbury Festival, Lollapalooza, and will be making appearances at Austin City Limits and the Voodoo Music Experience in New Orleans before the US tour begins.

Dallas Green releases his third solo album as CITY AND COLOUR on Vagrant Records TODAY. The album, titled Little Hell, is the highly anticipated follow-up to 2008’s Bring Me Your Love, which was certified platinum in Green’s native Canada. Alternately sparse and inviting, intense and delicate, Little Hell shows music fans another side of Green’s incredible songwriting skills, and features some of his finest songs to date.

City and Colour is simultaneously releasing Little Hell on vinyl, which can be found at Hot Topic stores nationwide or online through Vagrant’s webstore: http://www.merchlackey.com/vagrant/index.php?page=367

Fans that purchase the album through iTunes will receive three exclusive bonus tracks, including a demo version of “Weightless,” a live version of “O’ Sister,” and the stunning vocals-only track of “At the Bird’s Foot.”

Little Hell – named after the album’s title track, a song that explores the little heavens and little hells that comprise a relationship – is the first of Green’s albums to be recorded and mixed to tape. Recorded at Catherine North Studios in Ontario with producer/engineer/mixer Alex Newport (At The Drive-In, Mars Volta, Death Cab For Cutie), this sonic move ultimately resulted in the album’s warm immediacy, allowing the songs to take on spaciousness previously unheard in City and Colour albums. The record allows Green to highlight all of the facets of his songwriting, from Blues-tinged rockers to pedal steel-soaked acoustic gems. Songs like “Northern Wind” have a beautiful intimacy, as if Green is in the same room and singing right to you, while “Sorrowing Man” is dark and brooding, anchored by an ominous organ in the chorus. The record also highlights Green’s impressive vocal range, from driving a full band on the rousing chorus of “Natural Disaster” or sighing mellifluously on opener “We Found Each Other in the Dark.”

Green – who has won Juno’s (Canadian Grammy’s) for ALTERNATIVE ALBUM OF THE YEAR (2007), SONGWRITER OF THE YEAR (2009) – has enjoyed incredible success around the globe. In addition to fronting rock band Alexisonfire and selling out theaters that hold thousands of people in North America when he tours as City and Colour, Green has a rabid fan base abroad; his City and Colour show at London’s prestigious Royal Albert Hall this past April sold out in mere hours.

Green recently received “what sounds like a hero’s welcome” at Sasquatch according to NPR and will be appearing later this summer at several US and European festivals including Lollapalooza and Austin City Limits. PacSun is offering a fly away sweepstakes on their site for fans to win a trip to see City and Colour in Chicago at Lollapalooza next month. Details and entry form can be found here: http://shop.pacsun.com/content.jsp?pageName=cityColour

Praise for CITY AND COLOUR and LITTLE HELL:

“Dallas Green knows how to write a love song, and isn’t afraid to go all-out. Green has become well known for his melancholy vocals and sweet songwriting through his independent project, City and Colour.” – Interviewmag.com

Dallas Green- lead singer of acclaimed band Alexisonfire- has announced that he will be releasing his 3rd solo album as a singer-songwriter under the moniker CITY AND COLOUR on Vagrant Records. The album titled Little Hell is scheduled for release in June 2011 and is the highly-anticipated follow-up to the 2008’s Bring Me Your Love, which was certified platinum in Green’s native Canada. Billboard called the album “warm and intimate” and Alternative Press said, “picture-perfect imagery and a brutal honesty that throws back to a time when talent meant skills, not studio trickeries… an inspiring album.”

Little Hell was recorded earlier this month at Catherine North Studios in Hamilton, ON with producer/engineer/mixer Alex Newport (At The Drive-In, Mars Volta, Death Cab For Cutie). The album track listing and official release date will be confirmed in the coming weeks, however, City and Colour reveals the upcoming album artwork HERE.

Fans got a sneak preview of a brand new track from the upcoming album when an alternate version of the song titled “Northern Wind” recently made its debut on a special Valentine’s Day episode of the hit series One Tree Hill. Green performed on the episode as part of the show’s story line.

Green – who has won Juno’s (Canadian Grammy’s) for ALTERNATIVE ALBUM OF THE YEAR (2007), SONGWRITER OF THE YEAR (2009), had the distinction of hosting the 2010 Juno Songwriter’s Circle.

Green will be playing select US shows and festivals this Spring, including a highly anticipated stop at this year’s SXSW, Coachella and Sasquatch festivals. Watch this space for additional info.
