>AC Entertainment is proud to announce the initial lineup for Moogfest 2011, the annual festival of electronic and visionary music, celebrating the innovative spirit of Bob Moog, inventor of the Moog synthesizer. Taking place Oct. 28 – 30, in beautiful Asheville, NC, Moogfest’s Halloween harvest of musical delights builds on the tremendous success of last year’s reinvention of the Moogfest concept in the city that Bob Moog called home.

This year’s Moogfest lineup highlights a remarkable synergy of classic electronic music pioneers, contemporary groundbreaking artists, and young upstarts who are further pushing musical boundaries. ‘70s innovators, including Tangerine Dream, Hans-Joachim Roedelius and Suicide, will present rare US performances as they join a lineup that includes the Flaming Lips, Passion Pit, STS9, Ghostland Observatory, Crystal Castles, Chromeo, Battles, Umphrey’s McGee, Mayer Hawthorne & The County, M83, Holy F**k, Matthew Dear, Twin Shadow, Toro y Moi, The Naked And Famous, Tim Hecker, Anika, Austra, Causing A Tiger, and Gold Panda, with many others still to be announced.

The final Moogfest 2011 lineup will ultimately feature performances by over 60 internationally acclaimed artists in numerous venues throughout downtown, including the Asheville Civic Center Arena, the Thomas Wolfe Auditorium, and world-renown Orange Peel Social & Pleasure Club. The festival will also host workshops, talks, interactive experiences and art exhibitions and installations.

“Last year’s reinvented Moogfest – the first to take place in Asheville – was an amazing experience – and the response from artists and fans alike was extraordinary,” says AC Entertainment founder, Ashley Capps. “We’re very excited and inspired to build upon that success for the 2011 festival.”

Weekend passes for Moogfest 2011 will go on sale on Saturday, June 4, at 12 Noon Eastern exclusively at www.moogfest.com.

The enigmatic Toronto-based duo Crystal Castles have extended their North American tour this Fall, continuing their reign following the twelve date HARD Summer Tour and a prime slot at the massive HARD Summer Music Festival in Los Angeles with six headlining shows beginning September 7th in Nashville, TN. Notable electronic dance figures Sinden and Destructo will join the band as they embark on the HARD Summer Tour (along with Rusko, Proxy, and others TBA on select dates).

Touring in support of their new sophomore album Crystal Castles, both tours promise to deliver the volatile, highly potent, and often controversial live shows the band is infamous for. Already garnering universal acclaim, the release of eponymous second full-length has recently found members Ethan Kath and Alice Glass performing the infectious lead single “Celestica” on the BBC’s Later with Jools Holland, along with a raucous interpretation of the same track by mutual admirer Thurston Moore of Sonic Youth. Another new remix for “Suffocation” by Memory Tapes premiered yesterday at Gorilla Vs. Bear.

You’ve likely heard of them and now prepare to get to know them well in a city near you this summer as HARD officially announces the launch of the HARD Summer Tour! HARD is known for bringing some of the biggest names in the electronic, dance, hip-hop and rock scenes together under one roof and this summer will be no different with Crystal Castles, Rusko, Sinden and Destructo. Beginning August 6th, the twelve city tour lineup kicks off in Oakland, CA and hits LA, Denver, Austin, Chicago, Toronto, Montreal, Boston, Philly, DC, New York, and closes on August 22nd in Baltimore.

Toronto underground dance-punk duo Crystal Castles have been heralded by press as icons to their generation. HARD Summer tour will see them amping up a live show that made them infamous with new music from their upcoming summer album on Fiction/Lies. Sharing the stage will be the multi-tasking UK Dubstep producer, Rusko. Beyond his own debut release of O.M.G.! coming on Mad Decent/Downtown in May, Rusko has logged time already this year producing songs for the upcoming M.I.A. Album, touring with Major Lazer and is the first European producer to work with Gucci Mane! Alongside these cultural phenoms will be fellow UK producer Sinden and HARD‘s very own Destructo, both names to watch in 2010.

HARD has made a name in Los Angeles as the premiere festival to see some of the best in the underground and in 2009 took to the streets of New York to show how California gets it done. With the success of HARD LA and HARD NYC and now the highly anticipated HARD LA M.I.A & HARD NYC M.I.A. this July, HARD Summer Tour will be THE show to be at this summer!

Tickets are up for grabs starting Tuesday, April 6th. For more information on where to purchase and event info, go to www.hardfest.com
