ENTER SHIKARI’s “Live In London NW5″ is a free, download only, live EP featuring five tracks recorded at a special intimate London show in Feb 2012.
The show itself was filmed and recorded for television broadcast, and low-quality audio rips have naturally found themselves floating round the internets in recent weeks, so a plan was hatched to put out some nice 320kbps MP3 all nicely artworked-up and lovely.

The tracks themselves can be downloaded from : www.entershikari.com/downloads
While multi-camera footage from the show can be found at : www.entershikari.com/live-vids-from-tiny-london-show/

Enter Shikari have this week returned from North America, where they not only undertook a largely sold out, six week long, headline tour, but also filmed a video for forthcoming single “Warm Smiles Do Not Make You Welcome Here”, which is currently in the editing process under the watchful eye of director Raul Gonzo (who was also responsible for January’s “Arguing With Thermometers” video). “Warm Smiles…” will be released in July as a special remix package… but well have more news on that as we approach the time.

The band will rest for a handful of days before being bundled into a tour bus to spend the summer beating the living daylights out of summer festivals across Europe and the UK, including a high profile main stage slot at this year’s Reading / Leeds festivals.

With their much-anticipated headlining tour kicking off this week (they play Boston’s Paradise Rock Club tomorrow night), UK’s electro-punk-rockers ENTER SHIKARI have released a remix EP for the single “Arguing With Thermometers.” Available on iTunes for $2.99 at http://hopel.es/HaF9Uq, the EP contains three remixes and the album version from their critically-acclaimed and chart-topping latest album A Flash Flood of Colour on Hopeless Records. From the dubstep/techno remix by UK’s Alex Calver (né Calvertron) to the breakbeat/dubstep remix by Glasgow’s Taz Buckfaster to the industrial-leaning deconstruction by Japan’s Goth-Trad, the EP reimagines the songs through the eyes of three of the biggest progressive underground DJs impacting the scene today.

Consciously changing the way multi-band tours are constructed, Enter Shikari are taking a much more generous and fair approach and bringing only two other bands, Letlive and At the Skylines, along for the ride with each band receiving a more expansive set than normal package tours (dates below). “The more eagle-eyed amongst you may have noticed that this tour is made up of a three-band-bill. Believe us, this is deliberate,” said the band previously in a combined statement. “It has long been the belief in Enter Shikari camp that North American audiences have been trained, like customers at a bad diner, to believe that a large full plate makes up for tasteless food. While nobody here thinks that one tour will reverse the trend, we’re at least going to give it a go. Instead of cramming what they have to say into 25 minute sets with ten minutes on either side to get their gear on and offstage, each band will be given time to spread their wings, safe in the knowledge that all their onstage ducks are in line.”

A Flash Flood of Colour debuted on UK’s Official Album Chart at #1 and their corresponding tour is on its way to sell out over 18,000 tickets across only six shows in advance of its March 17th kick off. Over here in the US, the album debuted at #4 Top Rock Albums (#42 overall albums) on iTunes and was voted by Alternative Press as “Most Anticipated” and made good on that promise by landing a 4.5 stars (out of five), eliciting the praise, “it’s a musically adventurous (and surprisingly catchy) album, but the real reason to listen to it is to let Reynolds stimulate your sense beyond the mosh pit.” Not to be outdone, UK’s music tome NME hailed, “This rage against the machine could well be the four-piece’s defining statement.” SPIN likened the album as “If the Streets’ Mike Skinner chugged drugs at a rave and tried to save the world with metal.”

Enter Shikari is Rou Reynolds (vocals / electronics), Rory Clewlow (guitar / backing vocals), Chris Batten (bass / vocals), and Rob Rolfe (drums). A Flash Flood of Colour was released on January 17, 2012 via Hopeless Records and is currently on sale at iTunes for $5.99 for the standard version (http://hopel.es/HOtUhH) and $6.99 for the deluxe edition (http://hopel.es/H8Vrrl).

Enter Shikari is a band that lives, breathes, and thrives off of the concept of do-it‐yourself. They have released their three full–‐length albums on their own self–‐started record label, Ambush Reality, in the UK (and Hopeless Records in the US). They’ve worked hard over the years to fiercely maintain independence of major label involvement, keeping control of their albums, promo videos and tours. There was a festive vibe on January 18, at The Cockpit in Leeds, the venue for Enter Shikari’s third and final album release show played across the UK.

The band had every reason to be in a celebratory mood; they had received news the night before that their third full–‐length album, A Flash Flood of Colour, released January 16, had beat out the major label moneymaking machines to become the number one record in the UK on the day of its release. The Cockpit, a modest venue with a capacity of 500, contained a sold out crowd that was foaming at the mouth to hear songs off A Flash Flood of Colour live for their first time.

The band began their set with the first track off the album, “System”, a track that shares a similar introductory start as the title track off the band’s previous release, 2009′s Common Dreads. They ripped through other tracks off the new album such as “Sssnakepit”, “Gandhi, Mate, Gandhi” and “Arguing with Thermometers.” One of the more ambient songs, “Stalemate,” made an appearance with lead vocalist Rou Reynolds busting out his acoustic guitar to croon to the crowd about “tomorrows wars fueling generations of hate,” which demonstrates the socially conscious vibe of the new album.

Old favorites weren’t left out and appeared among the set list, like the big tracks “Sorry You’re Not A Winner” and “Mothership”, both off 2007’s Take To the Skies. Enter Shikari, fresh off an almost month long break between tours, was full of boundless energy on stage and sounded extremely tight. The songs off A Flash Flood of Colour were received with enthusiasm, crowd surfing and stage diving, with the crowd knowing all the words though the record had been out for just over two days.

A Flash Flood of Colour is already shaping up to be a massive album for Enter Shikari. Do yourself a favor and don’t miss them performing it live as they head off to tour Australia, Europe, and the UK this year.

Enter Shikari will be debuting their new single ‘Arguing with Thermometers’ taken from their third album ‘A Flash Flood Of Colour’ tomorrow on BBC Radio One’s Breakfast Show (with Zane Lowe this week). The band has also revealed a still from the video for the single. The video was filmed in the Bronx (in New York) during a day off on the band’s recent North American tour.

Check out the still below:

Having laid solid foundations with their July 2010 released debut album, ‘All Our Kings Are Dead’, Buckinghamshire rockers Young Guns are back with a brand new single. ‘Learn My Lesson’, is the first track to be lifted from the quintet’s highly-anticipated second album, recorded this summer in Thailand at Karma Sound Studios with producer Dan Weller (Enter Shikari). The single is mixed by the renowned Chris Lord Alge (Green Day, Biffy Clyro, Paramore) and recently debuted as Zane Lowe’s ‘Hottest Record In The World’ on BBC Radio 1.

“We debated long and hard about which single to pick as the first from the new record,” confesses vocalist Gustav Wood. “It’s an album with real texture and variation to it, so making the right choice felt really important. It feels like a bridge between some of our older material and the songs that are on the new album. The song is about embracing the moment and not locking yourself away, and has a defiant attitude that I love.”

The video, directed by Tim Fox (Kids In Glass Houses, Skindred), reflects the lyrical nature of the track, whilst taking its visual inspiration from the on-going political rallies in Barcelona, where it’s common to see barricade structures built up and adorned with protest slogans.

The band who are scheduled to release their as-yet-untitled second album in February on Play It Again Sam, were announced earlier this week as special guests on Enter Shikari’s UK tour in March (dates below).

Enter Shikari took over Camden’s Electric Ballroom in London for two consecutive nights on October 19 and October 20, 2011. Supported by American band Letlive, and UK band Your Demise, both of the incredible shows were sold out.

The first night saw a few kinks, with two power cuts during Enter Shikari’s set. They joked about it with the crowd until the power was restored, and neither the band nor the crowd seemed too phased by it.

Their set list were an amazing span of all their albums, from their debut Take To the Sky’s LP staples such as “Mothership” and “Sorry You’re Not A Winner”, through Common Dreads “Juggernauts” and, surprisingly, “The Jester”. Enter Shikari also played a few new tracks off their forthcoming album “A Flash Flood of Colour”, which will be released January 9, 2012. On the first night one amazing moment came during the slower acoustic “Gap In the Fence” where the entire audience sat down and listened raptly to lead singer Rou Reynolds play acoustic guitar.

It was a beautiful moment. Both of these shows were filmed, and should be included with the release of “A Flash Flood of Colour”.

St Albans’ ENTER SHIKARI return with their third ‘proper’ album ‘A FLASH FLOOD OF COLOUR’ in January 2012, and continue to defy those who would seek to pigeonhole them by unleashing eleven new tracks that stretch to the furthest extremes of their musical pallet.

Co-produced by the band & Dan Weller (Sikth, Young Guns) in Bang Saray, Thailand & London, UK during May/June 2011, and mixed in Vancouver by Mike Fraser (AC/DC, Aerosmith, Biffy Clyro, Metallica), ‘A Flash Flood Of Colour’ ventures deeper into the diverse sonic universe that Enter Shikari have created for themselves over the course of previous albums, 2007′s ‘Take To The Skies’ and 2009′s ‘Common Dreads’, and the 1000+ live shows the band have played since forming as schoolboys in 2003.
Taking the seemingly disparate elements of punishing post-hardcore heaviosity, lush ambient soundcapery, ribcage-worrying dubsteppy sub-bass buffoonery and (dare we even whisper it?) pop melody, the band have finally arrived at a sound that can only really be described as ‘Enter Shikari’.

‘A Flash Flood Of Colour’ contains the current single ‘Sssnakepit’ and current live favourite ‘Arguing With Thermometers’ (recently debuted for a Radio One session for Zane Lowe) along with nine 100% brand spanking new tracks.

Special online pre-orders for the album start on FRIDAY 14th OCTOBER via the band’s website WWW.ENTERSHIKARI.COM.

The tracklisting in full:

1) System…
2) …Meltdown
3) Sssnakepit
4) Search Party
5) Arguing With Thermometers
6) Stalemate
7) Ghandi Mate, Ghandi
8) Warm Smiles Do Not Make You Welcome Here
9) Pack Of Thieves
10) Hello Tyrannosaurus, Meet Tyrannicide
11) Constellations

Following the release of the album, and on the back of Enter Shikari’s currently ongoing, totally sold out, self-promoted, UK autumn tour (on which they play to 25,000+ fans), the band return to UK stages for a short run of larger shows in support of the album, including a return visit to London’s Hammersmith Apollo (where the band played in February 2010 and which was filmed and included in the live CD/DVD package ‘Live From Planet Earth’).
Special Guests for the dates will be UK rock rising-stars YOUNG GUNS who unveil Learn My Lesson, the debut single from their highly anticipated second album, on Oct 17th.

In light of the success of the autumn 2011 tour self-promotion experiment, the same route will be revisited for these March 2012 shows.
