Heartless Bastards are thrilled to announce a run of summer tour dates, kicking off in Norman, OK at Opolis on July 26th. The Austin, TX-based quartet has been on the road since January, performing to sold-out rooms and earning many accolades for their superb live act. These new Western US tour dates, which include festival appearances at the Hangout Beach Music & Arts Festival, Wakarusa Music Festival, and the High Sierra Music Festival, will be supporting Heartless Bastards’s critically acclaimed new record, Arrow (Partisan Records). Tickets for these summer show will go on-sale on Friday, May 4th.

Since the release of Arrow, Heartless Bastards have performed on The Late Show with David Letterman and The Conan O’Brien Show. “[Wennerstrom's] band’s crushing fourth LP sets the quartet alongside Ohio kin the Black Keys as front-line blues-rock modernists, with her writhing vocals at the center,” hailed Rolling Stone. Entertainment Weekly included Arrow in their “Must List,” praising the “strident yet emotionally nuanced vocals of frontwoman Erika Wennerstrom, which light up every track.” NPR noted, “[Arrow] shines a spotlight on a rock star in the making,” while Paste Magazine called it “the band’s best record so far.” “Wennerstrom,” deemed the Washington Post “has one of those voices that is utterly incapable of falsehood.”

Heartless Bastards have confirmed the second leg of their North American tour. The band is touring in support of their new album, Arrow, out February 14th, which SPIN Magazine has deemed one of the “25 Winter Albums You Gotta Hear.” The tour begins at Club Congress in Tucson on March 30th and culminates on April 20th at La Zona Rosa in the band’s hometown of Austin. The tour will stop in major cities including Los Angeles, San Francisco, Vancouver, and Seattle on this 12-date run. Fans can expect the summer tour dates to be announced shortly. The complete list of tour dates is below.

Arrow will be released by the popular Brooklyn-based indie Partisan Records; the album was produced by Spoon drummer/co-producer Jim Eno at his Public Hi-Fi home studio in Austin. Brimming with confidence and creativity, Arrow sees Heartless Bastards pushing their distinctive sound forward with their most eclectic, energetic collection thus far. Marked as ever by singer/guitarist/songwriter Erika Wennerstrom’s remarkable voice – at turns primal and pleading, heartfelt and heroic – it expertly captures the Austin, Texas-based band’s multi-dimensional rock in all its strength and spirit. Arrow follows upon the difficult introspection of 2009′s acclaimed third album, The Mountain, standing tall as a powerhouse new beginning for Wennerstrom and the Heartless Bastards.

Arrow serves as the recorded debut of the Heartless Bastards’ current iteration, their latest and greatest line-up since Wennerstrom first convened the band back in 2003. Drummer Dave Colvin and bassist Jesse Ebagh – both of whom played on the Bastards’ first-ever demo recordings – returned to the fold in order to play live behind The Mountain. Soon after embarking on tour, Wennerstrom decided to put more meat on the band’s raw bones by enlisting guitarist Mark Nathan, who had ostensibly come aboard to handle the live sound.

Partisan Records is incredibly excited to announce that they have signed Austin’s Heartless Bastards. Already the home to such indie luminaries as Deer Tick, Dolorean and Middle Brother, among many others, Heartless Bastards is the perfect addition to this artist-friendly, Brooklyn-based label. The band’s new record, Arrow, is due to be released on February 14, 2012.

Arrow was produced by Spoon drummer and co-producer Jim Eno at his Public Hi-Fi home studio in Austin. Following upon the difficult introspection of 2009′s acclaimed third album, The Mountain, the album stands tall as a powerhouse new beginning for Wennerstrom and the Heartless Bastards.

“The Mountain was me going through some things after being in a relationship for nine years,” Wennerstrom says. “This album is kind of like me being comfortable again.”

Arrow serves as the recorded debut of the Heartless Bastards‘ current iteration, their latest and greatest line-up since Wennerstrom first convened the band back in 2003.

The expanded line-up brought additional color and dynamism to the Heartless Bastards‘ already colorfully dynamic rock ‘n’ roll. With their sound honed to a razor’s edge by night after night of playing live, the Heartless Bastards were soon ready to record for posterity. But having spent so much of the past year on tour, Wennerstrom knew she needed some downtime in order to turn her musical ideas into fully-fledged songs. In Fall 2010, she embarked on the first of what would be several solo road trips designed to clear the cobwebs and help focus her songwriting. Wennerstrom visited friends and family in Ohio and Arkansas, hung out at All Tomorrow’s Parties in the Catskills, spent alone time in a lake cabin in the Allegheny Mountains and at a ranch in West Texas.

Arrow sees the Heartless Bastards doing what all great bands do – furthering their artistic scope with each successive effort. With its impressive range and undeniable vigor, the album flies straight, honest and true, the finest distillation yet of this extraordinary rock ‘n’ roll band’s fiery, unforgettable sound.

“I feel like this is the strongest record I’ve ever done,” Wennerstrom says. “I feel like playing with these guys, us all being so connected, really helped make it so fully realized. I’m really, really happy with it.”

Fresh off the heels of a run as main support for The Killers, Wolfmother have announced their first North American headlining tour in over 2 years! Before saying goodbye to The Killers on the road, Wolfmother front man Andrew Stockdale joined Brandon Flowers and company on stage for a special cover of The Animals’ “Don’t Let Me Be Misunderstood.” The guitar driven rendition of the classic track marked one of the tour’s many highlights and was captured on video by a fan.

Amidst all the highlights on tour Wolfmother was able to sneak into New York to debut some of the songs from their forthcoming album Cosmic Egg at a secret show that Rolling Stone described as, “a ferocious set of riotous-riffing and prog-rock ecstasy.”

Wolfmother’s cross-country trek will be kicking-off at the House of Blues in Dallas, TX on the 29th of October and wrapping up 20 cities later at the legendary Wiltern Theater in Los Angeles (see full list of tour dates below). Support for all shows will come from thenewno2 and Heartless Bastards.

Limited pre-sale begins September 16th through Musictoday. Exclusive pre-sale offers include a trial membership to The Wolfies, Wolfmother’s official fan club, and opportunities to pre-order Cosmic Egg with your tickets, plus one lucky fan and a guest at each show will win a meet and greet with Wolfmother! General on sales for all shows begin Friday, September 18th.

In a first for the band, Wolfmother has partnered with Musictoday & Trees for the Future, planting one tree in a third world country for every pre-sale ticket sold. Says Andrew Stockdale, “This is something I’ve wanted to do for some time, it’s great to have the opportunity to contribute to the preservation of our environment.”

October 27th celebrates the release of the aforementioned Cosmic Egg, recorded with heralded UK producer Alan Moulder (My Bloody Valentine, Smashing Pumpkins, nine inch nails) and follow-up to the band’s 2006 self-titled debut, which included “Woman,” the 2007 Grammy winner for Best Hard Rock Performance. “New Moon Rising” the first single off the record, is already #36 on the iTunes charts and climbing.

Stockdale also recently recorded as part of Beck’s Record Club. Stockdale joins the company of artists hand-picked by Beck such as MGMT, Devandra Banhart and Little Joy member Bikini to reinterpret choices from Songs of Leonard Cohen. Each track will be released individually exclusively on Beck.com.
