Gearing up to release their sophomore record Everything Under The Sun, Jukebox the Ghost performed the album from start to finish to a sold out crowd at 92Y Tribeca last week in New York City. In addition to the new songs, the band covered Donna Lewis’s hit single “I Love You Always Forever.” Singer/guitar Tommy Siegel comments:

“We heard it on the radio a couple of years ago on tour, and we were all thinking ‘Man, this song is awesome’ but we had absolutely no idea whose song it was — At the time we joked about covering it. Flash forward a couple of years and we were onstage at Bowery Ballroom covering it.”

Below is the video of the cover as well as a free live MP3 of their performance. Video and audio is provided by New York based production company VVUSIC.

Armed with their new record Everything Under the Sun produced by Peter Katis (Interpol, The National, Fanfarlo) and set for release on September 7th via Yep Roc the band combines their adept skills as individual musicians, tirelessly energetic live sets and pulsating catchy lyrics.

The record’s debut track, “Empire” is best described by vocalist/keyboardist Ben Thornwell as: ” …an extended metaphor of the heart as a castle, A keep is defined as ‘The Stronghold of a Castle’ thus, ‘My heart, is my keep and you are threatening me.’ And the truth is that an empire, as is love, is hard to keep peaceful.”

New York City and Boston-based foursome Hooray For Earth celebrate the release of their new EP Momo with a free MP3 download of single “Surrounded By Your Friends”, available for download here. Lauded by NPR and recently featured on ABC’s Amplified with Dan Harris, Hooray For Earth was hand-picked to release Momo through the exclusive eMusic Selects program last month, which quickly jumped into the site’s top ten sales chart alongside the likes of Animal Collective, Passion Pit and Real Estate. The band will release a full-length album later this spring.

Check out Hooray For Earth on ABC Amplified here and the video to “Surrounded By Your Friends” here.

“The Boston rockers spew big guitar noise, crafty synths, gripping melodies, and intricate aural theatrics with massive style and ridiculous aplomb. They need to be famous.” – The Boston Globe

“A little bit 80s synth pop, a little bit indie rock and a hell of a good time.” – New York Press

“A new indie gem.” – RCRD LBL
