As a compliment to his 2010 The Rock and The Tide album, Radin’s Acoustic Session highlights the hit singles and fan favorites with stripped renditions of “You Got What I Need†and “Streetlight†among others. The newly released U.S. iTunes single, “I Missed You,†which currently can be heard as the soundtrack to ABC’s Sunday Premieres TV spot, also joins the EP in acoustic form.
Joshua kicks off a whirlwind European Tour in October, headlining venues across the UK, Sweden, Switzerland, and France with opening performances from Joseph Arthur. He will head back out in the Spring of 2012 across North America in support of his October 4th The Rock and The Tide: Acoustic Session release and an additional full-length album presently in the works.

Joshua Radin is in the middle of a nationwide US tour in support of his album The Rock and The Tide. This weekend, he brought the Rock and The Tide Tour to the House of Blues in Boston. Our photographer Jennifer Murtha was there to catch Joshua and his band in action (and to thwart away his adoring fans!). Check out her photos below!
Celebrated singer-songwriter Joshua Radin is launching a partnership with the non-profit organization Little Kids Rock in an effort to revitalize music education across the country amidst unprecedented budget cuts. Beginning this January, Radin will visit Little Kids Rock classrooms in select cities throughout his nationwide tour where he will work alongside teachers to incorporate his songs into the lesson plan. Each night, a group of students will be invited to join Radin and his band on stage to perform what they learned.
“We are so excited that Joshua Radin is supporting our children,” says Little Kids Rock Executive Director David Wish. “Getting the chance to perform on stage with a professional recording artist is a once in a lifetime opportunity, and for these children, Joshua is living proof that if they work hard and follow their dreams, they can be successful in their lives.”
Education has always been close to Radin’s heart. After college he spent a few years working as an art teacher in his native Cleveland before teaching himself guitar and pursuing a career in music. Over the years, he has participated in various events for children, but his partnership with Little Kids Rock affirms his deeper commitment to furthering music education. “Teaching kids to do anything creatively is the best job one can possibly have,” explains Radin. “Well, maybe rock star. It’s a tie.”
Radin is touring in support of his new album, The Rock and The Tide. Out now on Mom + Pop Music, the album debuted at #5 on iTunes while Radin performed on “Ellen,” “The Today Show” and CBS’s “The Early Show.”
He first burst onto the scene when his 2006 debut We Were Here garnered a 4-star review in Rolling Stone. His success grew with the release of Simple Times, with the Sunday Times proclaiming it “refreshingly honest,” and praising his “soft spoken finger-picked songs…their lilt and melodic simplicity recalling James Taylor and Paul Simon’s early solo releases.” Radin has performed on “Late Night with Conan O’Brien,” “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” “The Today Show,” “Jimmy Kimmel Live” and more, and his songs can be heard in countless films, commercials and TV shows including “Grey’s Anatomy,” “House,” “Scrubs” and “American Idol.”

Philadelphia’s Good Old War, whose self-titled album debut at #2 on Billboard’s Heatseeker Chart, have offered the title for $5.99 on iTunes this week, as part of the store’s Discovery Download program. The album has also been a #1 Seller at Amazon and has ranked #1 on iTunes Singer/Songwriter chart.
The band has built major buzz by touring relentlessly in 2010, as headliners in both the USA and UK, and also support for artists like Brandi Carlile and Xavier Rudd. Good Old War continues their efforts on the road by supporting Dr. Dog and Joshua Radin on two tours this fall. They’ll cap off the year with seven shows supporting Dashboard Confessional and headline hometown show on December 17th at Philadelphia’s Theatre of Living Arts.
A video for “That’s Some Dream”, the second single from the current album, will make its debut on ABC’s Music Lounge. The track shipped to AAA radio this week, following two potent shows at CMJ’s Music Marathon.

After more than 75 film and television placements and several internationally chart topping singles and albums, Joshua Radin returns with his much-anticipated new release The Rock and The Tide out October 12 on Mom + Pop Music. The 12-song set marks the follow-up to 2008′s Simple Times, which earned Radin widespread praise and a #1 spot on iTunes. Following the release, Radin will embark on a nationwide tour. Full tour dates are listed below.
The Rock and The Tide is Radin’s third album and Joshua is celebrating the approaching release date by unveiling one “making-of” style webisode about the record each week leading up to October 12th. You can watch the first one on Joshua’s Facebook and Myspace. The second webisode premiered this week on AOL.
Joshua Radin’s celebrated 2006 debut We Were Here garnered a 4-star review in Rolling Stone. His success grew with the release of Simple Times, with the Sunday Times proclaiming it “refreshingly honest,” and praising his “soft spoken finger-picked songs…their lilt and melodic simplicity recalling James Taylor and Paul Simon’s early solo releases.” Radin has performed on Late Night with Conan O’Brien, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, The Today Show, Jimmy Kimmel Live and more. His songs can be heard in countless films, commercials and TV shows including Grey’s Anatomy, House, Scrubs and American Idol.
Radin has also achieved massive success outside the U.S., selling over 5,000 downloads through iTunes in the U.K. with no publicity or physical release. Radin’s organic expansion enabled him to sell out London’s Shepherds Bush Empire without a song on the radio, and to subsequently sign, outside of the U.S., to 14th Floor Records, home to such troubadours as Damien Rice and Ray LaMontagne. Not surprisingly, when Simple Times was physically released in the U.K. it quickly became a top 10 album with his single reaching #2 on the charts. Radin is currently top 10 on radio in 10 countries.
Produced by Martin Terefe (Train, Jason Mraz, Martha Wainwright), The Rock and The Tide is Joshua Radin’s second release with Mom + Pop Music. The independent label was launched in 2008 by Cliff Burnstein and Peter Mensch of Q Prime (The Black Keys, Muse) as well as A&R executive Michael Goldstone. Joshua Radin was the first artist signed to the label.
