Over the weekend, in a small town in the middle of Denmark, Kylie Minogue presented her biggest and – if the audience’s comments are anything to go by – best show ever! Over 10,000 elated Kylie fans raised the roof with a standing ovation at the end of Kylie’s two hour pop spectacular – Aphrodite-Les Folies at the Multi Arena.

When Kylie first appeared on stage in a giant golden clam shell, which appropriately floated up from the depths, the crowd were spellbound .. entranced .. taken into another world. There were enormous water fountains, flying angels, a chariot .. even a pool party!

From the foot stomping dance anthems to an emotional ballad her voice was in fine form, reaching impossible heights effortlessly. Kylie ended the show be recreating the famous scene from her “All The Lovers” video with a wedding cake of dancers rising from a pool which suddenly appeared in the middle of the arena!

The concert, spread over seven spectacular acts, saw Kylie performing in no less than eight bespoke Dolce & Gabbana creations.

Fans flew in from all over the world, from as far away as Hong Kong, from Russia, from the Middle East, from Adelaide in Australia they flocked to Denmark to be present at opening night. This was just the first night of an extensive world tour that will see the Aphrodite juggernaut travel from one end of Europe to the other, to Japan, Canada, USA, Mexico, New Zealand, Australia, South East Asia and beyond, not ending until well into 2011.

Check out an amazing montage of visuals and songs from her tour kickoff, as well as some teaser footage from Dolce & Gabbana of Kylie being fitted for some of her tour outfits.

As anyone who attended any of the previous tours can attest – a Kylie show is not to be missed. Much more than a concert – a Kylie show is indeed a spectacular!

As announced last week pop-superstar Kylie Minogue is hitting the road again with her brand new world tour and due to high demand for tickets she is already adding dates! A third show has just been added in NYC and advance tickets go on sale today. Originally scheduled to play two shows at the Manhattan Center’s Hammerstein Ballroom on May 2nd and 3rd, Kylie’s Aphrodite Live 2011 will now play three nights at the famed venue May 2nd, 3rd and 4th. Pre-sale tickets for the new date go on sale today for American Express card holders and Kylie fanclub members with general on sale beginning January 22nd.

It has been only a year and half since Kylie made her inaugural sold out visit to North America, and her return to her scene of triumph starts at Montreal’s Bell Centre on April 28th and ends up at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas on May 22nd.

The North American leg of the tour has been specifically designed to take maximum advantage of the venues, offering the audiences in the US, Canada and Mexico a unique experience tailored to the market. The huge production will see Kylie and her live band joined on stage by a cast of the cream of the world’s professional dancers.

Word from London is rehearsals started before Christmas in locations throughout the world. Kylie is with her band in London; the dancers and aerialists are being put through their paces by not one but three top choreographers in Los Angeles; the tech crew is putting together the props and staging in Pennsylvania and Montreal whilst the video team is furiously at work back in the UK. This incredible show was created by Kylie and her long-time creative collaborator, William Baker.

Kylie said, “Rehearsals are well underway and the show is shaping up to be more than I could have wished for. All departments are doing a stellar job and the combined level of expertise is nothing short of mind blowing. My friends, Dolce and Gabbana have designed an amazing wardrobe for me. I’m overwhelmed with the love and talent that is going into this tour and I can’t wait for my fans to be part of it”
