Mt. Desolation, the new project from Tim Rice-Oxley and Jesse Quin of GRAMMY nominated rock band Keane, are releasing their debut album TODAY via Cherrytree/Interscope. Featuring special appearances from members of The Killers, Mumford & Sons, The Long Winters and Noah & The Whale and produced by Emery Dobyns (Patti Smith, Antony & The Johnsons), Mt. Desolation is a gorgeous country-tinged affair that boasts both rollicking anthems and lush, understated ballads.

Last night the band made their U.S. live debut, opening for Mumford & Sons in Los Angeles with a show that left SPIN.com raving, “Just as the triumphant Nashville swagger of “Annie Ford” opened the night, the lovely steam engine shuffle of “Departure” would close the band’s set, inspiring the audience to clap along to the unshakeable bucolic bounce.” Reviews across the pond have been equally enthusiastic, with The Evening Standard in London raving “Mt. Desolation flower into a honed but exuberant six-piece live… The rattling ‘Departure’ and ‘Platform 7’ were as joyful as Mumford & Sons but ‘My My My’ was so stately even the roadies clapped. ‘State Of Our Affairs’ started spartan but built into the nearest they came to a Keane epic, while the Beautiful South-esque Bridal Gown was a slab of grown-up, rueful beauty.”
