Adult Swim announced today it has picked up the live-action series Loiter Squad, a 15 minute live-action show that features sketches, man on the street segments, pranks and music from Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All. The cast, featuring the Los Angeles collective of rappers, artists, and skateboarders, channel their multi-faceted creative talents in this Jackass-style showcase.

This announcement comes on the heels of Tyler, The Creator’s “Best New Artist” win at the 2011 Video Music Awards. Creating their own show comes as a natural next step for Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All, whose accomplishments have garnered wide media attention in 2011 and continue to compound on themselves. Singing member Frank Ocean contributed to the new Beyonce album and the collaboration between Kanye West and Jay Z. Tyler, The Creator’s Goblin LP has sold more than 100,000 copies and his Yonkers video has been viewed more than 22 million times. Odd Future is on the verge of their first national tour and the release of their Golf Wang book in November will document their travels and hometown exploits.

Loiter Squad is being produced by Dickhouse Entertainment–the Hollywood production partnership of Johnny Knoxville, Jeff Tremaine and Spike Jonze who have been the creative power behind hits including Jackass, Nitro Circus, Rob & Big, Rob Dyrdek’s Fantasy Factory, Wild Wonderful Whites of West Virginia, The Birth of Big Air and Wildboyz. The Dickhouse sensibility provides a perfect match for the unique viewpoints, masterful pranking and artistic inclinations of the Odd Future crew. Jeff Tremaine and Adult Swim’s Nick Weidenfeld will serve as executive producers.

Adult Swim (AdultSwim.com), launched in 2001, is Turner Broadcasting System, Inc.’s network offering original and acquired animated and live-action series for young adults. Airing nightly from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. (ET, PT), Adult Swim shares channel space with Cartoon Network, home to the best in original, acquired and classic entertainment for youth and families, and is seen in 99.4 million U.S. homes.

Turner Broadcasting System, Inc., a Time Warner company, creates and programs branded news, entertainment, animation and young adult media environments on television and other platforms for consumers around the world.

There isn’t much to say that hasn’t already been said about Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All. The press either love them or love to hate them and keep an eye on their movement as the group continues to surprise the public at every turn along the way.

Nearly a dozen members deep, the Los Angeles collective has been releasing music, videos, art, and has established a presence over the past couple years that most charting artists will never fulfill in their entire careers. Everyone from Beyonce to Jay Z to Pharrell have been supportive or even collaborated with members of the group and shared their praise. Tyler, The Creator was recently featured on a single / video with his rap favorite “Pusha T” while the group’s singing member “Frank Ocean” has contributed to the new Beyonce album and Kanye West / Jay Z’s “Watch The Throne” album. The rap / production duo of Hodgy Beats & Left Brain aka MellowHype have hit the charts with their “Blackenedwhite” release on Fat Possum while Tyler, The Creator’s “Goblin” LP is on it’s way to breaking 100k in record sales in only a few short months of its release on XL Recordings. His video’s climb to the million mark on you tube almost the moment they hit the web.

As quickly as Tyler, The Creator’s self-directed video for “Yonkers” climbed into the millions and moved kids around the world, he has earned two MTV VMA nominations for “VIDEO OF THE YEAR” AND “BEST NEW ARTIST”. Tyler is a 20 year old kid with a DIY spirit, who wrote + directed his own video (Yonkers) and now finds himself face to face against major label performers such as Katy Perry, Bruno Mars, and Beastie Boys.

Frank Ocean is the latest addition to the Odd Future phenomenon. After dropping his free mixtape via Odd Future’s website on February 18th, 2011 he immediately attracted the attention of Diddy, Lupe Fiasco, and now John Legend who have all been shouting him out via Twitter trying to spark a connection with the 23 year old singer. The Odd Future crooner has been signed to a major label, but released the “Nostalgia, Ultra” album as a free mixtape while waiting on the major label to invest money into his project. He’s received instant praise from the LA Times, Pitchfork, Fader, Complex, Peter Rosenberg’s HOT 97 radio show just this past Sunday, and so forth after putting himself on blast.

“My name is Frank Ocean. I grew up in New Orleans. I’m from Odd Future. I wrote Nostalgia, Ultra in spring 2010. I think I have Synesthesia. I feel more like some type of visual artist than a musician when I’m working. I just mean my process is more about imagery. Maybe people wanna call it a certain genre because I’m a black guy singing. I don’t really mind. To be honest, I don’t think much about it. I categorize it in iTunes as Bluegrass or Death Metal usually. I’m pretty sure I have Synesthesia though. I also wear a Kippah from time to time. I smoke Marijuana for anxiety. Oh, and I used to battle-rap in High School.”
