“Along with AEG Live, Right Arm is beyond excited to unleash the Carolina Rebellion lineup,” says Gary Spivack, co-executive producerof the festival for Right Arm Entertainment. “Like last year, it was our goal to make sure the 2012 lineup was stacked from top to bottom. Three stages of non-stop rock ‘n roll and a Friday night party to kick it all off…The ultimate rock festival in the Carolinas. Let the Rebellion begin!”

Based on 2011 attendee feedback, Carolina Rebellion organizers have implemented various upgrades and vast venue improvements to provide a premier concert experience at the multi-stage rock festival. The new centrally-located site provides plenty of space to expand, including more food and beverage stands, merchandise stands, restrooms and parking, and also offers more traffic routes to and from the event.

“When our fans speak, we listen,” commented Joe Litvag, co-executive producer of the festival for AEG Live. “We personally responded to every person who sent us comments, and because of that important feedback, our motto this year is ‘Let’s double it!’ Double the number of entrance points into the festival, double the number of concession stands, double the number of merchandise stands, and double the number of locations for free water…We’re taking the steps to make Carolina Rebellion an upgraded experience for everyone.”

In addition, all ticket prices will include parking to ensure quicker access to the parking areas, and earlier entry into the parking areas and will be allowed, along with earlier door times, to better alleviate the traffic and lines. The inclusion of the new Camping Packages will encourage fans to arrive on Friday starting at 10am and stay until Noon on Sunday, thereby relieving traffic congestion on Saturday.

Further improvements to amenities include: a larger box office area for will call pickup, shade locations in public areas and the Hangover Recovery VIP Lounge area inside the festival grounds to allow those with VIP Lounge tickets to have a special place to enjoy the event.

“Our sponsors mean as much to us as our fans do,” added Litvag. “And without the support of music-centric companies like Monster Energy, who present our two main stages at Rebellion, we couldn’t put a festival of this size and scope on for the people.”

Carolina Rebellion is also proud to be sponsored by Jägermeister, Hangover Recovery, and f.y.e. – for your entertainment (which will be on site selling CDs and DVDs and will host band autograph signings throughout the festival day). Carolina Rebellion is produced by Right Arm Entertainment and AEG Live, the same team that produces the highly successful Rock On The Range in Columbus, OH. Tickets for the 2011 inaugural Carolina Rebellion sold out more than one month in advance and attendance exceeded 30,000.

Rockingham Speedway is located at 2152 N US HWY 1, Rockingham, NC, less than two hours from Charlotte, Raleigh/Durham, Columbia and Greensboro.

Red performed “Not Alone” on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno. Check it out and pick up their album Until We Have Faces on iTunes, Amazon MP3, CD

02 Feb
2011

Twice GRAMMY-nominated hard rock outfit Red got its street week underway with incredible momentum today as its third project, Until We Have Faces, saw No. 1 on the iTunes Overall Albums chart and simultaneously celebrated a fast rising No. 1 at Christian rock radio with the incendiary, “Faceless.”

With extensive online coverage also impacting this week, fans can catch up with Red and stream the album in full on AOL Music http://music.aol.com/new-releases-full-cds/#/5.

Known as much for maintaining a rigorous touring schedule as it is for its incredible fan connection, Red members don’t miss a beat. With a day off from its place on the Winter Jam tour, Michael Barnes (lead vocals), Randy Armstrong (bass), Anthony Armstrong (guitar) and Joe Rickard (drums) hosted an exclusive fan-only event in its hometown of Nashville Monday night.

The event kicked off at 11:00 p.m. and ran until 2:00 a.m. during which the lucky fans were offered tips to secret messages on the new album, treated to one-on-one hang time with the band, cheered together at midnight to celebrate the official release date and experienced an acoustic performance.

“This was unlike anything we’ve ever done. It’s important that our fans know we value them. Red fans are the reason we get to do all of this,” shares bassist Randy Armstrong. “We love interfacing with each of them in person and online, and getting to hear their stories of struggle and success. We’re thankful for how they’ve supported us; it’s nothing we’ll ever take for granted.

In addition to incredible sales and radio impact, the band is receiving acclaim from media:

“Red are really one of the last truly mainstream rock acts around. They’re heavy enough to bring in fans of more aggressive music, but friendly and catchy enough to cross over to contemporary rock fans. The sensational vocals of Barnes and the beautiful orchestral arrangements really help them separate from the competition.” – Bullz-eye.com (http://www.esdmusic.com/2011/02/01/red-until-we-have-faces/)

“UNTIL WE HAVE FACES is a layered album full of catchy hooks, industrial accents, and symphonic elements. Fans of bands ranging from STABBING WESTWARD and CHEVELLE to FLYLEAF and LINKIN PARK will be able to quench their thirst for something new…” – Kikaxemusic.com

“Every song has its place and purpose. Red has pulled together yet another fantastic release. Their methods have not changed, but have merely been tweaked and perfected. The use of orchestra instruments is perfectly incorporated. The message is bold and honestly placed. Until We Have Faces is heavy and beautiful…” -Thenewreview.net

“Red continues to do what they do best, and that is to send out strong powerful albums, with excellent and positive themes and I have no doubt that Red will finally strike their fortune.” – Sputnikmusic.com

Red, the Nashville-based hard rock outfit has released a behind-the-scenes video for their fans (watch here). Filmed during the recording process for their February 1st release, Until We Have Faces, the video gives you a window into the studio and practice space to see how the album was made.

Until We Have Faces’ overarching theme is a search for true identity, inspired by a number of sources, including author C.S. Lewis’ book of similar title, Till We Have Faces. Paired again with award-winning producer Rob Graves, Until We Have Faces features Red in its most musically intense place to date – “a combination of our first two records, but on steroids,” Michael Barnes notes – daring both Red and its fans to catapult into new rock territories.

Fans in Dallas, TX will have an opportunity to see the band perform a special acoustic set on February 2nd. Stick around after the performance to meet the band and have your CD autographed! See below for time and store location.

Essential Records’ two time GRAMMY-nominated hard rock outfit RED packs a potent sonic punch on its third project, Until We Have Faces, a record that leaps out of the speakers with a ferocity and complexity reflecting the band’s growth and intensity. The new album releases February 1, 2011.

From the opening seconds of “Feed The Machine” through the final, contemplative moments of “Hymn For The Missing,” the four-man unit of vocalist Michael Barnes, guitarist Anthony Armstrong, bassist Randy Armstrong and drummer Joe Rickard shows both maturity and abandon can coexist within the various dimensions of rock Red inhabits.

The new album’s overarching theme is a search for true identity, inspired by a number of sources, including author C.S. Lewis’ book of similar title, Till We Have Faces. The band itself is working through its own new identity – as a four-piece with the addition of drummer Rickard.

Until We Have Faces takes listeners down the path of recognizing the hollowness of life until finding their true identity (revealed on “Faceless”), the idea of creative destruction unveiled in the midst of new life (found on “Let It Burn”), and simultaneously presenting the positive energy found even “in a world so cold” (explored on the infectious, melodic ballad “Not Alone”).

Paired again with award-winning producer Rob Graves, Until We Have Faces features Red in its most musically intense place to date – “a combination of our first two records, but on steroids,” Michael Barnes notes – daring both Red and its fans to catapult into new rock territories.

The band’s first single, “Faceless” goes for adds at Rock formats on Dec. 31, continuing Red’s powerful presence at radio.

Review by Kristen Phillips/Photos by Meimi Yeung
It’s a beautiful spring day outside the Utica Memorial Auditorium and there is already a line at 2pm on a Tuesday afternoon. Why you ask? Well for the Breaking Benjamin and Chevelle concert. You could almost cut the anticipation and excitement in the air, at the Utica Memorial Auditorium. Breaking Benjamin made their return in this massive four month long tour all over the U.S with Chevelle, Red and Thousand Foot Krutch. The two opening bands, Thousand Foot Krutch and Red were entertaining but lacking. Perhaps the lack of rock radio stations playing new music was the source of a lot of empty stares and beer runs during both openers’s sets.

Chevelle took the stage with such intensity that you can’t help instantly feel your heart race to the music. The lead singer, Pete Loeffler sings as if he’s baring his whole soul to you but without the emoness or harshness of some other bands. He knows how to work a crowd, getting them to jump and mosh around, even going as far as calling a girl out in a playful matter, “Why are you yawning at a rock concert!? looks like you need to wake up, here’s some water!” The crowd was at its loudest when the band played old favorites such as “The Red” and “The Clincher.” You can tell how much they have matured into the music without taking the fun out of it. Chevelle formed in 1995 in Grayslake, Illinois, originally with three brothers, Pete, Sam and Joe Loeffler. Later, Joe was replaced by brother in law Dean Bernardini, still keeping it in the family. With several hit singles from four studio albums (Wonder What’s Next, This Type of Thinking (Could Do Us In), Vena Sera and Sci-Fi Crimes), Chevelle played a much too short but sweet set.

As the lead guitarist, Aaron Fink is the first to walk on stage and immediately starts playing as the rest of Breaking Benjamin comes out. The crowd roars as if a local championship sports team took the stage. Frontman Ben Burnley takes the mic and it just blows you away. The passion and intensity that Breaking Benjamin presents on their albums is only exceeded by their amazing live performance. You can see the pure, raw emotion in Burnley’s face, one that seems possessed by the devil, with the howls and roars. In actuality, Burnley just wants his music to mean something and connect with his audience; he succeeds. The set was filled with touching video tribute montages to great music heroes of the past and the people of the armed forces. Mixed in a sea of lighters and cell phones in the air, Breaking Benjamin’s fans are relentless singing along to every lyric, keeping in tow with the band and never slowing down. The band even rewarded their loudest fans by giving out free tee shirts. The bond between band and fan may not be stronger than Breaking Benjamin and their following. The band dedicated “Polyamorous” a single from their first studio album Saturate, to all the fans who have been with them for the past ten years. Having played across the country countless times over the past decade, that’s a lot of fans.

Atlantic recording group Skillet has announced details of their upcoming headline tour. The “Awake & Alive Tour” begins April 15th at Scranton, Pennsylvania’s Scranton Cultural Center and then continues through late May (see attached itinerary). Joining the Grammy-nominated rock outfit on the trek will be RED, a Nashville based group whose most recent effort, “Innocence & Instinct,” climbed its way to the Top 5 on iTunes Top Albums chart. Also joining the tour will be hard rock outfit, The Letter Black.

One of America’s hardest working live acts, Skillet – who spent the first part of 2010 touring alongside Atlantic labelmates Shinedown – will also be appearing at a number of upcoming summer rock festivals – full details will be announced shortly.

The “Awake & Alive Tour” celebrates the continuing success of Skillet’s acclaimed new album, “AWAKE,” which reached the #1 spot on the iTunes Store’s “Top Albums” chart within 24 hours of its release last summer. The album also made a blockbuster debut on the SoundScan/Billboard 200, entering the chart at #2. The album continues to reign as a favorite, ascending the upper half of the Billboard 200.

Produced by Howard Benson (Three Days Grace, Daughtry, Flyleaf), “AWAKE” is highlighted by the electrifying single, “Monster.” The track is currently a top 5 smash at Active Rock outlets nationwide, while also scoring top 20 airplay at Mainstream Rock.

What’s more, “Hero” – the second single from “AWAKE” – has been featured in an array of high-profile promotional campaigns, including WWE’s annual Royal Rumble pay-per-view and is set to arrive at Active Rock outlets this week.

Founded in 1996, Skillet has earned rapturous praise for their inspirational and intense approach to hard-edged alternative rock. Hit Parader celebrated Skillet for “(bringing) to mind the kind of slick, studio-savvy work that made vintage Aerosmith and Bon Jovi so much fun to listen to.” “Skillet…continually push their musical muscle with soaring guitar work interspersed with their take on 80’s hair-metal ballads,” declared Mix.

In addition to cumulative album sales in excess of 1.6 million, Skillet has racked up a wide range of honors throughout their extraordinary career. Frontman John Cooper and producer Brian Howes recently collected two BMI Music Awards for “The Last Night” and “The Older I Get,” both featured on 2006’s Grammy Award-nominated “COMATOSE.” That album proved Skillet’s most popular work to date, achieving RIAA gold certification. “COMATOSE” followed the band’s 2003 label debut, “COLLIDE,” which launched Skillet into the mainstream while also garnering their first Grammy Award nomination.

(Press Release from last week)
Today, (RED) and Live Nation announce the (RED)NIGHTS series, an innovative slate of 26 live concerts in the U.S., which will raise money and awareness for the ultimate goal of eliminating AIDS in Africa. To kick off the series, (RED)NIGHTS artists, Santigold, Gomez, O.A.R., Fall Out Boy, Lisa Hannigan, The Veronicas andThe All-American Rejects will turn one of their upcoming concerts (RED).

“I believe no person deserves to suffer from a preventable, treatable disease simply because they can’t afford medicine,” said Marc Roberge of O.A.R. “If bringing awareness to what (RED) is doing helps one person receive antiretroviral treatment and live a healthy life, we have accomplished our goal.”
(RED) will present the (RED)NIGHTS concert series at select Live Nation clubs and theaters across the country. (RED) and Live Nation are collaborating to link acclaimed artists with their fans to join the fight against AIDS in Africa. Information about the events already scheduled for the (RED)NIGHTS concert series can be found at http://www.livenation.com and http://www.joinred.com/rednights.

“(RED) was looking to engage more people in its mission, to help eliminate AIDS in Africa. The (RED)NIGHTSseries is an innovative concept that combines the power of Live Nation’s live music platform and venues to use people’s passion for music to raise awareness and, ultimately, generate more money to help eliminate AIDS in Africa.” said Russell Wallach, President of North American Alliances for Live Nation. “We’re building a great line up of artists for (RED)NIGHTS, and believe we can help (RED) successfully deliver its message by connecting them with music fans all over the country.”

Bringing the (RED) experience to life in a new way, (RED)NIGHTS and the community of participating artists will come together to use great live music to raise awareness of (RED)’s primary objective—to help eliminate AIDS in Africa. With each live show, (RED)NIGHTS hopes to inspire fans to participate in (RED)’s mission, highlight the many ways to get involved beyond the concert and encourage people to share the message and experience with others. Ultimately, it is the goal of (RED)NIGHTS to build a community—of artists, concertgoers and music fans everywhere—that is passionate about helping to save lives in Africa. A portion of the proceeds of each (RED)NIGHTS concert goes directly to the Global Fund (theglobalfund.org).

“(RED)NIGHTS is one more way for people to become (RED) and support our efforts to eliminate AIDS in Africa,” says Jenifer Willig, Director of Partners and Marketing at (RED). “We’re so honored to have incredible artists turning their shows (RED) and look forward to bringing (RED)NIGHTS to fans across the country.”

(RED)NIGHTS arrives on the heels of (RED)WIREâ„¢, the innovative new digital music service from (RED). The (RED)NIGHTS artists will join an impressive community of (RED) artists who are participating in (RED)WIRE, including U2, Coldplay, The Killers, Jay-Z, Elvis Costello, John Legend, Sheryl Crow, Neko Case, Noel Gallagher, Conor Oberst, TV On The Radio, Death Cab For Cutie, Michael Franti and many more. (RED)NIGHTS and (RED)WIRE mark the first time (RED) has moved into the music arena and are a mutual extension of (RED)’s mission, whereby the music community is coming together as a vehicle to raise awareness and funds to help fight AIDS in Africa.

About (RED)TM and (PRODUCT) REDâ„¢
(RED)’s primary objective is to engage the private sector in raising awareness and funds for the Global Fund, to help eliminate AIDS in Africa.
