Konichiwa/Cherrytree Records recording artist Robyn will perform at the legendary Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles on Saturday, October 22nd. The evening will mark Robyn’s biggest U.S. headline show to date and, to celebrate, she has personally invited Royksopp to join her on the bill. While they have collaborated in the studio – Royksopp produced, co-wrote and performed on “None of Dem,” a track from Robyn’s Body Talk, and she sang on the duo’s 2009 single “The Girl and the Robot” – the Hollywood Bowl show will be their only U.S. performance together.

Tickets go on sale to the general public this Friday, July 8th, at 10 AM PT at all Ticketmaster outlets and the Hollywood Bowl box office. They can also be purchased by phone at (800) 745-3000 or online at www.ticketmaster.com.

The show will cap off Robyn’s highly successful 2011 North American tour in support of the acclaimed Body Talk trilogy. She launched a headline run in January, which included a sold-out concert at Radio City Music Hall. The New York Times hailed the show as “majestic and exuberant” while VillageVoice.com marveled at how she turned the famed venue into “an epic dance floor/mosh pit.” Rolling Stone praised her Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival set, noting: “Some of the most energetic moments of the evening came during Robyn’s excited set, as the platinum-haired Swedish singer hopped and waved to the keyboards and live percussion of ‘Dancing On My Own’ and ‘Indestructible.’” “Robyn is an electro-pop star, emphasis on the word ‘star,’” said AOL Spinner. “[She] took her Coachella 2011 crowd out of this world with her swirling synths and her mesmerizing, aerobic, drill sergeant dance moves.” Billboard named Robyn’s performance the best show at Bonnaroo and she also performed at Sasquatch.

Robyn is spending the summer on the road with Katy Perry on the North American run of “The California Dreams Tour 2011,” which comes to Los Angeles’ Nokia Theatre/L.A. Live on August 5, 6 and 7. She will also play numerous European festivals. Body Talk, the third in Robyn’s trilogy of 2010 albums, was singled out as one of the best albums of 2010 by numerous publications, including People, US Weekly, Rolling Stone, Spin and Pitchfork. “Dancing on My Own” was nominated for a GRAMMY® in the States. Robyn swept the GRAMMY awards in Sweden with four wins and was nominated for a Brit award. You can check out the Max Vitali-lensed video for her latest single, “Call Your Girlfriend,” at:

After a US tour in March which culminated in a co-headline at Miami’s Ultra festival, and a performance at the Electric Daisy Carnival in Las Vegas in June, Royksopp will return to the U.S. to join Robyn for a one-off show at the Hollywood Bowl. With a name that most people misspell or mispronounce, Royksopp are two Norwegian oddballs who’ve already cemented their place in electronic musical history. Their records have earned them platinum awards, they’ve remixed the likes of Lady Gaga, Coldplay, Depeche Mode and Kings Of Leon – as well as written music for artists like Robyn, Lykke Li and Karin Dreijer-Andersson (Fever Ray / The Knife). With a background from the clubscene and a thing for italo-disco, Royksopp combines the unexpected with the familiar, the cerebral with the fresh. Firmly based within the realms of synth-pop – with the occasional trip into kraut-rock and experimental synth of the seventies – Royksopp are truly pioneers and their distinct sound is utterly unique in every sense of the word.
